Anyone use them? What would you recommend? I usually hunt outside of blinds and in the sitting position, and I think they may be a good idea. BTW, I'd be using them to hunt deer--not varmints--if that makes any difference.
Thanks in advance.

I bougth a bipod this year and i like it alot. I do alot of stalking and usually shoot prone or sitting. The bipod sure beets a rock or tree fork. I think you will be happy if you get one.

I have a bipod on my .300 wsm and I carry shooting sticks with the other rifles. They have saved the day several times. I don't always hunt from my blinds so I try to have one or the other available.

most of the time i hunt with a .270 that dosnt have a bipod but if i think theres a chance i could end up out of the blind i take a 7mag that has a bipod on in and i love it. the legs extend out so i can use it laying or sitting.

They are nice to have especially if you're a LD (long distance) shooter with a super high power scope.

I only have one that I used with a .17 cal. Don't know much about them. Log onto Academy's site and use the search engine. That should tell you or just google up shooting sticks!

I built a set of these this year and they have worked out well. http://www.varmintal.com/abifu.htm Gave me something to do and cost about $20 for materials.

I hunt with handguns most of the time, but occasionally with a rifle and I always have a shooting stick. I prefer a Stoney Point Expedition Monopod. It extends from 35" to 65", so it works great whether you are sitting down or standing up. It is very mobile and easy to cary and use. I would highly recommend it.

I bought one from boggear.com, the TRIPOD SHOOTING STICKS - Model RLD3 & they worked great for me this year out of my ground blind.
