Checked the old Cuddeback for the first time today. 5 days, 80 pictures. 3 bucks and a corn thieving boar hog.

This knucklehead keeps rearing up and knocking my hanging feeder around to steal more corn!

His days are numbered. Tomorrow I will be raising the feeder when I fill it back up.

Any guesses on weight? After I kill this dang thieving sob, I will weigh him and report back.

Thinking I'm gonna break out the .375 H&H for this ol' boy.

Let's hear some guesses!

I have some 300gr. TSX handloads that would be hard to recover even with a frontal chest shot.

Gonna have to check and see if I still have any TBBCs in the safe.

May have to hold my nose and autopsy the big stinker.

And here's a shot of the thief in action!

Never thought a hog that big could do something like that.
Now I know better!

Kind of a toothy critter, Huh?

It's still "we the people", right?

How far off the ground is your feeder you reckon? That thing is a beast!

It was lower on the 26th in the pic of him rearing up, probably 4.5 feet to bottom of black box.

I raised it on the 29th cause I saw mud on it and thought coons were jumping up on it. I'm 5'11" and the bottom of the black box was around chin level, and he could still reach it.

Here's a pic of a buck to maybe add some perspective.

Gonna drive a stake to 3' tomorrow to maybe help get better guess at height.

They both look like they are taking off for flight so try to remember all the stuff you called BS on and said "and yeah, pigs can fly too" because it may now be reality. I am setting up a camera with video so I can catch one doing his trapeze act. These things are amazing nuts and need to die before they take over the world. rofl

I think you are going to need a bigger scale.

Filled the feeder and raised it up to 6' yesterday. Also put out some range cubes.

Sat for 2 hours waiting on him after dark, but no luck.

I am carrying my CZ550 .375 H&H, S&B 1.5-6 Zenith, with 300gr TSX handloads.

He WILL have the air let out of him. May take some time, though.

Put more holes in him and the air will let out faster!

.375, you sure you got enough gun?.....I have killed big boars, some his size with a .17hmr thru the ear and my .22-250 does it too. I hunt Caldwell, Gonzales, Guadalupe counties and we got some plenty big boars, too many to waste high dollar ammo like a .375 on.

I would just use my AR in 5.56.

I use whatever rifle looks good in my safe, as far as a .375, at almost 58 years of age, I got no use for something like that caliber, dont need a hurtin shoulder, most people that shoot these canons are usually flinching when they pull the trigger anyway. the largest caliber I even shoot anymore is a .308, even my 30-06 collects dust. the smaller calibers will do the job on even a big boar if you are a good shot.

Thanks for the input guys. I have also killed them with lots of different calibers from .17 to .375.

I'm only wanting to shoot this old boar with my .375 because I haven't had much opportunity to use it since I got back from my 2nd trip to Africa in May 2010.

Not bragging, just giving some perspective.

I have probably killed more hogs with .308s than other calibers.

I enjoy them all, and all types of hunting.

Anything to get in the woods.
