if you have to study him, let him walk. when a sure enough good deer walks out most people will know it immediately. You say that, but I know a guy who shot a non-typical deer that gross scored 165. He was 12.5 inches wide.

i'd let him walk. i've seen it too, 4-5 year old 130-140" deer only 11-12" wide. it sucks, but what do you do. it would be more than a fine i'm pretty sure.

In my county, a buck with a 15 or 16 inch spread is a GOOD buck... and u don think I should study to make sure it makes it... 15 inches is only 2 inches more than 13.... pretty close for comfort, but it is the world we live in.

I hunt in Jackson County, about 30 miles east of Victoria, and 5 years ago, you were lucky to see a 12" wide basket 8 point, now, a 130" is very common at my place. For my county, AR has greatly improved the hunting.
Hunt Jackson county, Burnet County, and Menard County.
