Actually, that 12hp Copperhead will push that 15' boat about 20mph. It's not your typical old long tail.

Those Copperheads get great reviews.. that looks like a great rig for someone looking for a small boat.

Actually, that 12hp Copperhead will push that 15' boat about 20mph. It's not your typical old long tail. I wouldnt say 20, but those copperheads are good fast motors. Ah heck, you might be right..

I ran along side a 12hp on a 1436 with 2 ppl in it when the 12 first came out. It was a BIG get together in the Atchaflaya Basin with a LOT of boats, so they were catching Hell from the wakes, but he held it pretty steady right at 20. I figure the 15' boat would run about the same if he's running solo or 2 ppl runnin light.

Wonder if that 12hp is to heavy for my 10 ft layout boat.
