So lets say you could go deer hunting anywhere in North America, where would it be and why? Im not looking for a specific outfitter or ranch. Just curious on which state and what about the region that would entice you to hunt there!

1. Prince of Wales Island for Sitka Black Tail Deer and Black Bear, thought about going to Kodiak Island one time but when the outfitter said that if the Brown Bear got to the deer before I did, to let the bear have it. 2. Someplace in Texas where I could kill a muley buck at a reasonable price, don't have to be a big buck, just a muley buck. 3. Any 5 deer coumty so I could load up on does. Stupid me, I forgot one. 4. The Pine ridge area of the Nebraska Panhandle.

Well I think if I could go anywhere it would have to be somewhere in Kansas, because I love the river bottoms and heavy agriculture out there.
A close second would probably be Saskatchewan, Cananda as well if I could take the chilling temps!

NW Kansas...Big whitetails and HUGE muleys. Still the best kept secret in the United States. Not for long I am afraid. Just found out however, my aunt(Dad's sister) was left a bunch of land in Trego co.(outside of Wakeeney) I didn't know anything about it...do now though!!

North Dakota badlands near Watford City, North Dakota, wild crazy looking country. I hunted it in 1962, just never got the chance to do it again.

Would have to say on horse-back hunting elk & mule deer in Montana - stay out a week, 10 days or so and like Monte...if I could stand the chill. Close (very close ) 2nd would be the monster wt in Saskatchewan. I'm going to start saving my pennies.

I would say the midwest or Kansas being that I probably won't go there unless I lay down some dough for a guided hunt. I can hunt anywhere in Texas pretty reasonable through friends. I have yet to hunt the brush country so if I had to pick a place in Texas it would be there.

Manitoba: Moose, Caribou and Elk oh my! And I hear the WT are pretty big too. Then try to mix in some waterfowl and fishing!!! Only once though, I don't like being cold. Then it's back to the friendly confines of South Texas.

I love the area I hunt in north west Missouri. I hunt central New York too and the farm country with river bottoms and wood lots of both places are beautiful and exciting. The thing about Tx. though is the variety of hunting terrain is great and there is no place better for that. If it was a place I could go that I haven't been I would say the Milk River bottoms or Kansas. I'll do both in the next few years Lord willing and the creek don't rise.

Some great places have been named off..........I think I would settle for a place where I could see more than one deer in a weekend. Somewhere my wife could actually have a better of selection of stuff to shoot since she only gets to go a couple of weekends during the season, and a place that I could take my nephews and let them see a bunch of deer so they could bag their first deer without having any restrictions............that would be wonderful.

True dat. That's where all the deer are at!
I have been looking that last 2 years at going to Illinois or Iowa. Would love to go back down to south Texas again though.
