Have you noticed better that usual numbers over the past couple of weeks (after the rain)? Seems like I am getting quite a few more hogs on the game cam. Of course I did have to dump 200 pounds of corn due to moisture getting in the feeder. BUT, it seems like my deer pic numbers have dropped and Hogs have climed....what do you think?

Yes i have a few places down on the river that are just covered with them at all times but most of my hunting areas are around 5 miles from the bottom and are mostly oaks and hay pasture...the pastures can get empty at times mainly when the water holes dry up but now that the acorns are dropping and theres a little rain here and there they are movin back in and in big numbers....the drainage creeks we have go all the way to the river so its like highways for them...everytime it gets dry most of them head back to the river.....all of our sows are heavy breed right now too...and with our acorn crop hardly hurtin....numbers will shoot up big time by christmas

Awe, that makes sense as to why my deer have thinned as well, We hunt a creek bottom, in fact my feeder is less than ten yards from Collard Creek, obviously a good ways from where you are. Pigs at our place are very unpredictable anyway, but numbers seem to be up right now. I'm down there at least once a week, and just hadn't noticed the acorns, however, now that you mention it I did hear them when I sat in my bow blind last Friday. Bet that's it. Thanks man

You are quite the hog hunter. Are you sure we're not related? Might want to ask your mom if she remembers a guy named djones from the Dixie Chicken and see if she blushes!

j/k - i don't know you well enough for mom jokes. good hogs there. wicked cutters

I was just going to ask if you were related to djones. Looks like djones is admitting it.
