I have been using Primos silver XP scent elimination spray, and I have been getting winded quite often. So I decided to try a different brand of spray considering I have been taking every other scent elimination step necessary. I switched to Code Blue EliminX since then I have had 20 pigs down wind of me, and about 6 deer within 25 yards including a mature buck at the base of my tree eating acorns. I talked to a couple buddies of mine who use the primos product and feel the same way I do. I know there are many variables involved with this but wondered yalls feedback on this product, and which brand of spray yall use. I hate to bad mouth a product with out solid facts but enough is enough. Thank yall.

I don't use any special detergent or scent blocked clothing or anything i just spray down with "dead down wind" before i make my way to the stand and haven't been winded yet... that i know of

I like the code blue.. Got diesel on my hands and it knocked the smell out instantly

I tried the Primos crap a couple of years ago. Got winded way more times than deer came in. I switched to Scent-A-Way and rarely get scented...that I know of.

None of them put the ingrediants on the bottle and could be just water as far as We know and charging bucko's for it. Dead down wind is a good one. Ill have to try code blue and still hunt the wind !

I used the "scent killer" spray last weekend and still got winded after about 5 minutes of the deer showing up. I'll give dead down wind a try next.

Ive been using DDW for 3 seasons now. I hunt the wind and I am very meticulous in my scent suppresion preperations. I have never been winded while in the stand using DDW but it could also be the other factors that come into play too.

Scent Killer and Dead Downwind but I just bought some BioExtreme after they posted a special price on here for THF members. I've heard good things but we'll see.

I use Scent Killer Fresh Earth and this year moved to the aerosol cans. I try to hunt the wind but still believe in giving myself any and every advantage I can. So I am very scent conscious, clothes, their washings and stoarage, my soap, deordorant, foot powder, eating mints, to spraying down and using a scent disc in the tree with me.

Thank yall for the feedback, of course hunting the wind is always ideal but this east texas wind has been out of the east one minute and out of the west the next. I will take every advantage I can get.

I use the 99% Scent Blocker brand and I think it works great. I am very seldem winded.

I still pay close attention to the wind, but I think it also helps walking into your stand.

i had good to decent success with dead down wind.

last year i switched to bioextreme and have had great results.

last weekend i didnt shower all after digging a ditch among other manual labor. (mainly because we worked right up until hunting time and i wanted to get in the stand)
sprayed down with bioextreme and had deer within 15 yds of me in the treestand. in all 4 directions too, so wind was not the reason they didnt bust me.

in canada, i took it with me up there and got within 11 yds of 3 different black bears and never got busted. got some nice video of them up close and personal. my buddy thought i would get busted due to scent, but the bears never noticed me.

needless to say i am a fan. also like that it is soap based, so it does not irritate my arm pits or skin, neck, etc...

Article from F&S they use a trained German Shepherd K-9 finding a hunter concealed with scent elimination everything. Read for yourself. Doesn�t appear it made any difference. What they don�t say is what brand of scent elimination spray they used I suspect it wouldn�t matter the dog would still find the right box immediately.

How close is a deers sense of smell to that of a dog? I know its got to be better than a human, but is a dogs x10? x5? the same?

Using a dog if the sense of smell is not the same kind of makes the test worthless, unless you are hunting dogs.

I use the wind as much as possible, but again I use as much scnet eliminating products as possible, anything to give me an addvantage. If it dampens my scent for a deer to think its an old human smell or not pick out where I am, then its worth it.

I'm not sure if a dogs scenting ability is the same as a deer or not I suspect it's probably similar. That's just a guess I have nothing to back that up with. I wonder what the scent elimination companies that make lots of money have to say about this. Probably they don't want to say anything they just want us to keep buying the stuff.
