I bought this rifle as a light weight combo pig/coyote carry rifle and it is only offered in the 1 in 12" twist rate.
I was thinking of trying the 53gr TSX from Barnes but I haven't heard any first hand reports.
I use the 75gr HP's from Hornady in my AR and they work phenomenally for me.

In that twist try the ones you mentioned. If you can find them the 55gr Trophy Bonded from Federal work great. Some will stabilize the 60 grain partition in a 1 in 12 if yours does those are fantastic

That twist won't shoot the heavier bullets. You'll probably have to shoot the lighter bullets, 55gr and under

I have one rifle that groups the 60gr partitions at 100 within an inch that has 1:12 but remember the 60gr partition is a protected point and shorter at .79inch bullet legnth than many 55gr pointed bullet 55gr ballistic tip is .81inch the 50gr ballistic tip is .005 longer than a 50gr BT.

I knew going in that 60-62gr was going to be tops for this rifle. I wish more manufacturer's would make their 223s in 1-8" or 1-9" instead of the 1-12" currently.
I ordered some of the 55gr TSX rounds and I found the Fiocchi Shooting Dynamics 55gr soft point for $11.50 a box, so I am going to give them a try as well.

Put some rounds down range and find out what it likes!

Put some rounds down range and find out what it likes! Well I am actually looking for a feedback on the bullet performance, not necessarily a recommendation on ammo itself. I know this is going to be a trial and error process, this is why I ordered 7 different brands and bullet styles tonight. I have used the TSX and the TTSX with stellar results in a '06 on pigs and was hoping the smaller round would offer similar results.

TSX is where its at. You will destroy pigs with it.

I have a Remington 700 with 1:12 twist. It shoots the Fiocchi 40 and 50 grain v-max and they will both expire a hog or coyote in short order.

I wouldn't want to try and punch through this with a V-Max... 62 TSX did though. Mine was an 8" twist but a 12" will stabilize them.

I have an older AR15 with the slower twist. I shoot which ever bullet is most accurate in it, which happens to be Black Hills 52gr BTHP. I wouldn’t admit this to just anyone, but it has taken its fair share of hogs. Pics available upon request

I really like the TSX accuracy wise. I used some FMJ to set a zero, cleaned this gun between every round and each of the first 3 TSX rounds could be covered with a nickel. I followed up with 3 rounds of the 55gr Fiocchi soft points and they were about a 1 1/4", but for $11 a box they will do for coyotes.
I bought another X-Bolt in .223 to match the '06 I got from NRHBill a few months back, just wish I could find the carbon fiber fluted model in .223.
