It's a bone-in shank portion.
I believe it is raw or partially cooked.

I would brine it 1st. I brine mine for 7 days prior to smoking it, and will incject the brine into the ham, as close to the bone as I can.

I did a little reading and if I "cold smoke" it at around 190 for a while and then bump up the temp to around 220 or so.....I will get a nice pulled pork roast....does that sound right?

I guess I should have bought an already smoked or cooked ham huh?

ifyou have a fresh raw ham you really need to bring the temp up to 325 for at least a hour before lowering it to the 220 to 190 range...I use a method on a smoker for fresh hams..30 min per pound...so a 10 pounder would take aroung 5 hrs...Thats keeping it around the 190 to 200 ranges and the 325 at the beginning...

It's on right now
I injected with a honey/water mixture...rubbed it in honey and then Grub Rub and Grill Mate Pork Rub. Smoking it over applewood. We'll see how this goes.

Thank you for the help...as always...VERY MUCH APPRECIATED!!

Well.... there's more in the kitchen that I haven't eaten!! Wow...was it ever good. It was the best ham I've ever had. Thanks for the 325 degree help....that was a big help.

This is going to be a HUGE hit with my ice fishing buddies in March!

Thank you Lord for the gifts in my life.
