ok guys, i bought a cheap wildgames inovations game cam about a month ago, first 2 weeks i got about 200 pics within a week and batterys died. Then i put new betterys in and only about 40 pics, changed the batteries again an only about 4 pictures came out. Im going to return this to acadmey an put alittle more money into a better Cam. What do yall recomend. I dont relly care if its the clearest picture i only care about taking pics and long battery life and the motion sensor. Lets hear what yall have to say.

Close your eyes and pick one. I realize that advise is not much help but getting a good one is a crap shoot. Quality control is a foreign term in the game camera industry. Price doesn't seem to make much difference.

I am surprised the wild game innovations is working for you. I have two and have had no big issues... probably have one or two photos with nothing in it, but that could be a bird going by... its sensative. My friend has the micro wild game innovations and his batteries last about a month and he will have almost 200 pictures on it. Maybe your settings were changed by accident in the picture download. if you are not careful they can get set differently and that would affect battery life... ie. like the picture quality got set to high.. I keep mine a 5 min intervals with low picture quality. Here is a photo off mine.

My wife showed me the ad yesterday and suggested I get one while they are on sale. I think I will but the 59 dollar one I bought there 3 years ago still works fine and that gives me confidence to buy another. I have it set up with a deer feeder battery and solar panel and don't have any issues except for, as pointed out, the thing is sensitive. Blowing branches, grass and birds set it off.

We had a heck of a time with the cheap $35 wildgame until I actually read the directions and set it up right. Got 600 pictures off of it last time out but it does have moods of not taking pictures if you put a partially used memory card in it.

Mine works fine as well, mine is the flash variety and will burn thru some batteries if sees a lot of activity. For the price I think they are just fine. I bought a primos truth cam 35 this year for a second camera and that thing is a work horse, battery life is real good and takes good pics. They are on sale I think right now, $79.99

I've got a couple of Moultrie I-45 that I've had for about 2.5 years now and they take great images day and night. 6 D Batteries last about 6 to 9 months normally. I probably get about 2000 photos a month on it. The display did go out at about 1.5 years though on both cameras. I contacted Moultrie and they said if I would send them back they would fix the problem but I have never taken the time to send them back.

How are you getting 12,000-18,000 pictures out of the Moultrie on one set of batteries? Solar Panel? I would hook a panel to mine if it would get those results. I get about 30 days and 1200 pictures out of mine on a set of batteries.

Both cameras have always been good on batteries. About 80% are daytime photos if that makes any difference at all, I don't know. I have 'em set on single shot not multiples, standard or normal not high quality. No solar charger on them. These are the only ones I've ever owned so I just assumed that that was normal for Moultrie cameras. After reading some of these other reports of lasting 1 or 2 months I hope these keep on working for a while. Now you watch, when I go back next time they'll be deader than a hammer and have to be replaced.

I have a Stelth Cam I590 thats about 4yo and still works good... takes alot of pics of the grass blowing, but still works. My other good one is a Moultrie D55 which isabout 1yo, used 2 sets of batteries in 1000 pics.
I've also gone thru 2 I450's and 2- I650's that were refurbished. Two have the flash out in 50 pics and one hasn't taken 10 pics in 2 months. I'll stick will new units from now on

I've got Moultrie D40's
On one set of D batteries I'll get about 2500 pictures with it set on high quality.
On medium I've gotten over 5000 pictures on one set.
I put one out last week with the settings on high quality and the batteries were still at 70% from last year.
I like them, I got both of mine for 125 for the pair.
I should probably add that I've got it set on 3 or 5 minute intervals(I forget what the setting is, the next one after a minute) and it takes about 20-30 pictures a day.

I have 4 Wild Game Innovations camera's IR4's. They take great day time pictures, but the night time pictures all need to be jacked with on photo shop to brighten them up. Or you can't see anything but eye balls. Had 3 of Jim Shockey's Stealth Cam's and they did't last 1 season. I would love to buy some Reconyx camera's but after hearing about all the theives stealing them, I'm a bit hesitant.

I bought a primos truth cam 35 last year (on sale at academy) set it up Sept.1. Have it on high sensitivity, 1 minute intervals. Have downloaded 1300+ pics so far. still on same set of D batteries. Showing 80% battery life left. I'll be picking up a 46 when they go on sale at the end of the season.

They are also super easy to set up with a solar panel since they have a 6v plug in the bottom. I called Primos and asked if plugging in a 6v solar charger to this port would recharge rechargable batteries inside the cam and they said that it would. I've got one camera that's set up this way that's been working for about a year without battery problems. Nighttime and transition between dark and light photos aren't the best but the daytime photos are fine.
