Lots of acorns on the ground after last weekend rains. So they have really slowed coming to our feeders. That and with the full moon it kind of sucks right now at the place I hunt. I have a blind set at a different spot on the creek bed by some oak trees for an hunt this weekend if I get time.

so far its the worst bow season ive had in the last 5-6 years, im just not seeing many deer. Its bound to get better
Sometimes I wonder if it will get to the point you bring an attorney with you out hunting.

Went last weekend and the deer weren't moving much at the feeders.
Full moon and 25mph winds didn't help, then the rain came.
I think we've had a pretty good acorn crop too... The front of the house was covered up with them from the oak in the front yard.

Have seen more deer in the last two days during shooting hours then all season. Seing about 20 a hunt and finally passed on my first legal shootin buck last night. Was a knarly 11 point and a big 7 pointer. both are 3.5 and will be solid next year.
It was a tough decision but hopefully it will pay off.
Overall we are seeing more deer then we have seen in the past 5 years and movement is great.

The weather was nasty this past weekend, but still saw a lot of action. We hunt in the panhandle and I wasn't sure how things were going to look with the drought. Luckily we are surrounded by irrigated fields so the deer have had plenty to eat.

Feeding patterns still nocturnal up through 2 weeks ago. Starting to get some hanging around mornings & showing up before sundown, but still holding to the dark and cooler temps for the most part. Rut & a good cold snap oughta shake things up.
Luck to everyone!

I went opening weekend and between me and my buddy we saw 8 deer. I had 3 within 20yards. Sadly they were all doe...Gotta keep em around for the rut though. got a new bow last week so its time to lay the smackdown on something this weekend! (weather permitting)

Same as most everyone, too many acorns and full moon with windy weather and some much needed rainfal got the pasture looking really nice, so who needs corn?
Opening weekend saw probably 25 deer, and several of those were bucks, and after the opener it's been slow.
Did see several bucks running together with one that is a trophy but he just won't come into range the last two times he has been seen.

Went last evening and saw one doe then 30 pigs ran her off. I have always hunted ground blinds and missed one from a ladder stand last night at 15 yards shot right over his back. Lesson learned, 10 minutes later another one came and shot him. Deer movement has been slow though for the last 2 weeks.

Great Bow season so far. Morning and evening hunts both paying off... but we have different stands for each. Does taken but no big boys just yet. Full moon is out now and there are some acorns falling, so we expect it to drop off a bit until the rut.

All I have seen so far is doe and yearling, but all the deer still look healthy. Got a bunch of trail cam pics of them moving at night and quite a few pigs coming to the feeders.
You should have been here yesterday!

Hunted last weekend in the heat and wind, only saw a few does out of range. Nothing coming to corn and scrapes are just getting active on our place. Going to give it another go in a few weeks.

I would say not very good and few deer, but on 400 acres and 4 feeders I found them back in a little corner opposite from where the hogs were hitting hard. I took the oldest buck I had on camera 120 class, there was another pushing 130 class but a year younger. Some does go through this place too, so will focus on them now until rut and then I can go for my 2nd OK buck tag.

Tough this year.
The only buck I was willing to shoot, due to the generally poor condition of our deer as a result of the drought, was taken by the guy next to me.
Putting the bow down and concentrating on the freakin' hogs that have found my watering station.

Shot a 2.5-3.5 yo cull six pointer at 15 yards on opening weekend. I'll try to post pics in a little while. He ran about 55 yards, fell over and then a few minutes later he got up and started walking off. He got another 10 feet or so and fell over dead! It was a double lung pass through. When he got up I thought "Oh hell!"
Overall, the activity was good on my place. Saw a lot of bucks and does in the mornings and evenings. The deer are hungry and I was hunting over a bait pile I learned how to make in Canada.
