I was in a tree stand a couple days ago, had a doe come in at about 40 yards. She seen me, but wasn't sure what I was, she didn't spook, just turned and walked off. Sitting around the same feeder in a pop up this morning, had a doe at 18 yards for almost an hour, she kept looking up, but wasn't worried. I think I am a fan of the pop up now.

I have all three but have been in the pop up all week due to wind direction and time of day I've been hunting.
I put a office chair in the pop up and it has made life easier.

I have tripods and popups because of the lack of tall trees to use a tree stand, I like the popups better. I feel like I'm just sitting out in the open in the tripods

Tree stand if i can get high enough. If not then its a pop up or a couple other groundblinds I made. Im not a fan of tripods for bowhunting.

IMO, tripods are useless for bowhunting. 99% of the time I hunt treestands. Deer won't notice someone sitting in a tree as easily as they'll notice a pop up blind that wasn't there the day before. The treestand I hunt the most is a 4x4 forklift pallet that I pulled up about 30 feet in a big post oak on my lease in Mason. The only bad thing about that stand is that the tree is a post oak, so it loses all its leaves in the fall. But, I take some of that 3D camo sheet material up with me and drape it around to help cover me up. Works very well. The only time I hunt a ground blind is when I can set it up for several weeks before hunting it, to let the deer get used to it.

I hunt out of all three - but done right, a treestand is the way to go.
1. Elevate yourself - 20' is perfect. 2. Pick a tree with some limbs UNDER your stand. You will be surprised at how much that helps conceal you. 3. Pick a tree at least 20 yards from your "target" sight, preferrably one row of trees BACK from the leading edge of cover. 4. Don't hunt a particular stand if the wind is not right. 5. Use a liberal amount of scent killer. 6. Enjoy the scenery of there and all of the wildlife that you will see.

I use nothing but a pop-up. Tree stands can be un safe because most folks don't do routine inspections, and they are dangerous even with safety devices. (read I'm afraid of heights) Tripods just don't give enough concealment with enough room to freely move as needed. And pop-ups can be moved quickly with minimal effort. And lastly treestands and tripods can be mizerable in inclimate weather. Pop-ups can be bone dry and you can even use a heater if needed.

I prefer treestands, but we do have some tripods that we put in the middle of big mesquites.
Never used a pop-up but considering picking one up

That's all I use for bowhunting in the Hill Country. I don't like missing all the sights and sounds when you hunt in a pop-up. I built several tripods that the seat height is about 6 feet and I love them for that area. I just figure out where I want to hunt and put them behind a mesquite or cedar and cut shooting holes.

To each his own. I built a quad pod with two seats and a waist high rail with camo fabric all the way around to hunt out of and it was useless for bowhunting. Then I pulled the rail off, made the base wider, and built a 4x8 box blind on top with mesh windows that is much more suitable for bowhunting. I have several post oaks on my place in Mason, and I have a fork lift pallet sitting on a forked branch that is 27 feet off the ground. It has been extremely effective for me.

I know what you mean. When I sit in that post oak, I can see way over the tops of all the mesquite trees. When it gets cold and the mesquites are bare, I can see deer coming in from a few hundred yards.

I also say good luck gettin 20' in any tree in the Hill Country....
My lockons out there are about 12-14" elevated in thick oaks with lots of cover.
I have a quad pod that nestles into the top of an oak and has wire panels with brush breaking it up.
Tripods are all backed into brush and heavily covered.
I moce pop ups around and it is ESSENTIAL they be heavily brushed in to a backdrop with no silhouette. Also, be sure to give it time to settle before hunting! Cover scent well frequently

I have 2 stands around 20', another around 15', and one in the top of a giant oak thats 35' to the floor. Makes for a tough shot angle but with some pratice iv got it down. Dont have to worry much about movement or wind direction when im that high up.
