I hunt Castell what do want to know? Does it set on the llano river?
South or north(llano or mason county)?

I hunt near Enchanted Rock which isn't too terribly far from there. Unless there are tons of small tracts, I'd take it for that price. I see a ton of nice, but not spectacular deer.

Castell is mainly large ranches, With some really good deer. But at that price I would be a little worried

Typical buck: Buddy also dropped a 10-pt with a similar frame that had about an 8-inch drop a few years ago. Beautiful deer.

Sounds good. Going to look at it sometime this week. Im already on a place, but for $500 it might be worth it.

I hunt off CR 106. Some good deer around there but like anywhere else if they don't get old enough they wont get big. we've taken 3 bucks that were 130+ and have some 140's on game cam. but we are VERY selective, we only take 2-3 bucks off 700 acres each year. We do take 12-15 does each year, and thats propably not enough.

4 of us shoot 2 does each at my buddy's 85 acres near there and we never make a dent. I'm sure they're wandering over from adjacent properties, but it's not unusual at all to see 30-40 deer in a morning.
Way overpopulated.

We used to hunt just south of castell, great place; our landowner sold out to Anheiser-Busch, now it's their corporate lease......or I'd still be there; tons of deer, take a doe every trip back then and never dent the population

you wont be disappointed cause you'll be hunting with 2 of your life long friends!
A virtue in wildlife ethics is that the hunter has no gallery to applaud or disapprove of his conduct. Whatever his actions, they are dictated by his conscience, rather than by onlookers. It is difficult to exaggerate the importance of this fact."

We also hunt near there, off CR113. Lots of deer with some nice bucks. We took 2 130+ deer last season. I love the number of stags in the area. They are such good eating. We were out there last weekend and were coverd in pigs.
