Always hunted tree stands and tripods when bow hunting. When shooting thru mesh on a pop-up do you have to allow for the mesh? Meaning at 20 yds do you aim 20 or 21 22 etc...

I leave a corner of my window and mesh open, the rest are closed. I wear all black and hide in the shadows. Had a buck look in 4 or 5 times from about 10 yards and he never noticed me. I shoot mechanicals so no mesh for me.

Are all your window flaps down? Although YOU can't see through the mesh, I bet the deer can. I looked and looked at mine trying to see through it and couldnt, but a group of does obviously saw me the other day. Got my friend to sit in it for me and I looked...sure enough, I could see his face shining through the mesh. Also, as mentioned above, the deer are going to notice your popup, even if you brush it in. It's a foreign object and if they see something out of the norm, they'll usually circle downwind and figure it out. All in all, I've been having the same problems you are describing. I feel like I got lucky Saturday morning with my doe. I was packing all my stuff up, had bow in case and everything and looked up and all of a sudden there were deer there. How I didnt get busted unzipping my bow case, undoing the velcro, nocking and drawing, I'll never know. Pretty sure the rain helped me out allot by knocking down my scent and coving my noise.
Good luck.

That was the key when you said you saw his face shining. Wear black. That said I need to find a black baklava or something.

You don't change anything when shooting through the mesh. If the deer is at 20 yards, shoot it with your 20 yard pin. The mesh will not affect it with fixed blade broadheads.

Some hunters leave too many windows open and try to make too many shooting lanes. It just lets in more light in your ground blind and gives away your movement and smell. Your on the ground at their eye level and you need to cut down on light coming into your blind as much as you can.
Wear all black from the waist up, including cloves and face mask. Make sure your back far enough in the blind and in the shadows.
Best thing to do about shooting through the mesh is to shoot a few times through it at your block target or bag at set ranges and see how it effects your arrow flight.
