Like the title says, it is one of those rare days I actually am free to hunt. Just wondering what time would be a good time to hunt today. Since it is raining, will the deer be moving at times they normally would be bedding? Or are they gonna be laying up waiting for the rain to stop? I've heard it said that deer can smell BETTER when it is raining/wet. Have you guys heard this to be true?

I had deer in my food plot this morning, they walked past the house about 8:30am to where they usually bed down. I wasn't hunting, just having coffee in the kitchen. It was raining but light.

I would bet they will be out early this afternoon, especially if the rain turns to drizzle or you get a break in it.

I wish I was at the lease this afternoon, they'll be moving for sure after the rain that Cross Plains got.

Rain stopped about 1:35pm, deer showed up at 1:57pm. They have been in and out of the food plot and my yard since. i caught a break from traffic and put out more corn and protein on the ground 40 yards out the back, took them 30 minutes to come back.

Deer activity all afternoon.
