Definitely young, would give him at least two more years to see if he blossoms any.

that deer is on the way downhill and is at least 8.5 years old.
if you don't find a way to kill him quick, he will ruin your herd, and possibly burn your lease to the ground.

It is my belief that this is his first set of antlers. I have aged several just like him that were spikes and they are basicly fawns they have 4 fully erupted teeth, the three crested milk tooth, and the M1 will be very white and unstained. Check your next long horn spike he most likely will have only 4 teeth on the lower jaw the P1, P2, P3, and M1. A true 1.5 year old will have six teeth on the lower jaw. This is a result of does breeding in September and yes December. If you were to pen this one up he would suprise you with what he could be in a couple of years. Thats my story and im sticking to it

Definately young but I think he's got bad genetics also. I don't think he will ever get a lot larger but ya never know. Keep these pics of him and see what he does next year. I'll bet you can tell who he is year after year because he's gonna be small and narrow.

If you shoot a young deer because a neighbor will shoot it, you are that neighbor.

He's a yearling... but the way he's splitting brows and starting on two's already, he'll be a fairly solid buck one day.
