I've been invited to hunt at my brother's place in Montalba near Palistine. Any reports from that area? I'm not sure what kind of hunt this will be, but am curious about what is going on. Thanks!!!

I have a friend that's got a small place in Montalba...

I'm sure you may already know but, there is not a gun doe season - only archery until Nov 4th.

Plus the bucks that my frien'd been seeing are scarce... He'd seen a young buck and a spike... But he's seen TONS of does...

So it may depend on the size of the property, i dunno...

Good luck

I have a friend that also has a 500 acre ranch just outside Montalba about 1.5 miles and he has lots of deer on the move. Some of the pictures are very nice bucks. Gook luck.

I hunt in the adjoining county to the south (Houston). Was there over thanksgiving and saw lots of bucks but not many does, unfortunately hardly any shooters. Scrapes have picked up quite a bit but it still didn't look like they were being worked too hard at Thanksgiving, that may have changed with the cold snap though. There are definitely some quality bucks around, my brothers buddy took a 143 B&C off our property two years ago.

Bucks seem to be all over the place right now, if you have does at the feeders, that's where I would be!

Good Luck!
