Personally, I would have given the dog away and got one without issues. Just like horses, there are too many good ones to fool with outlaws and there are too many good dogs to spend time and money on one that has issues.

My puppies are here to stay. I've had soft problems and bad tails, but I've never had a pointer that did not hold his own while hunting with other bird dogs.

I won't be kicking him to the curb. Going out today to work some more birds. I'm going to introduce the 22 from a distance and see what kind of reaction he gives.

I'll let you know how it goes tomorrow.
