Just nasty! He didnt even make it 40yds after the Rage busted his lungs. Perfect quartering away shot. Arrow buried in his side.
I avoid Dick's and hope they fold.

All with Rage 2 blades in the last year. Sadly, I never got pics of the big, mature Sika doe I shot this year (guide came & got her while I continued to sit on stand). Complete pass-thru you could literally pass a beer bottle through...nearly cleaved the heart completely in half. I'm a believer, too.

I have had two not open correctly. I shot a doe a few years back and the blades hung together, I watched her lay down and I could tell the hole was nowhere close to being big enough. I got one lung I guess but when I went back several hrs later I went to where she laid down and found blood but couldn't find any blood after that. I a 125# pig that was broadside hit was good only got around 4-5" penetration, same thing I found the arrow and the blades were stuck halfway open. Also if you plan on doing much stalking they are not a good choice due to how a branch or vine will hit a blade and open it. Just my bad experiences with them. When they perform correctly they are bad though.

I have had nothing but good things with Rage 2 blade but I will admit that someday I plan on switching to fixed blades.
Also, my brother uses the G5 Tekan 100 gr. Mechanical Broadhead and has done well with them. Think he shot like 3 deer last year with the same one. Seem to be built a little better than the Rage.

Some folks have negative opinions of Rage. I, however, love them. I have not had one fail yet. Have I lost a deer using Rage? Yes, but it was my fault for making a horrible shot. Did the deer live? Yes, we have trail cam pics of him 2 weeks later. I personally like Rage and I will continue to use them.
I avoid Dick's and hope they fold.

I shot a doe, directly behind the shoulder with a 2 blade rage. Shot was not high, not quartering, perfectly broadside and she dropped like a rock. The arrow went in exactly where I was aiming and deflected up into her spine. I was shooting from a 10' tripod. She dropped in her tracks. Good outcome, bad performance. Might have been a one time deal for me, but I know 4 other guys that had basically the same thing happen. I don't know how or why it happened, but the idea that an arrow will deflect that much after a good shot is enough for me to disagree.

i think it is funny how guys say that the head did not open, when they are inspecting the "Mechanical" head after the shot! I agree. Mine always look like they didnt open when I pull it out of the ground or find it laying on the ground. But I guess you can tell by the entry wound if it fully deployed. I have yet to have this problem. I do think that penetration can be an issue with Rage but it rips so much open that penetration isnt really that big of an issue. Ive seen several animals busted with a Rage and there is not an exit wound simply because the head buries in the opposite shoulder bone. But then again the entry hole is big enough to track a blood trail.
I avoid Dick's and hope they fold.

We shoot about 30 deer a year with bow and the head that out performs the rest is Rage. I've shot G5 until this year and I just got back from Academy and I'm shooting Rage this year. They put a whole in the animal and man does it do the damage. And this is coming from a guy who was very anti "mechanical" for years and years. But after seeing what Rage does I tip my hat and bought some for me and my 2 boys and that cost about $150 so they aint cheap. ha. And I'm in no way connected or employed by anyone that deals rages or any other product. JMO and I see a lot of bow shot animals. YB

I have not had anything bad with rage yet. They make some nasty entry holes. The only complaint is they don't last. Every deer I shoot with a rage falls WAY closer than when I shoot them with my G5.
