With all the cute new pups on the forum, I thought we could start a thread on all the things our pups have chewed up over the years.
My daughters pup was feeling under the weather so I let her take a nap with me. During my sleep I kept feeling something touch my nose. I woke to a room cover in feathers. She had chewed holes in my down comforter. I had to learn my lesson the hard way. Don't let a bird dog sleep on feathers, its to tempting for them.
Shopping with your husband is like hunting with the game warden. Experience is what you get, when you didn't get what you wanted.

Only thing Paxton has "chewed" that she wasn't supposed to was a blanket. I think she was coerced by one of our boxers as they were playing tug of war when we weren't home.
Only thing Whipple has chewed on has been the corner of a rug in the bathroom.

When Ace was a pup, he chewed the downspouts off of all of our aluminum gutters. Friggin' labs, gotta love 'em!!

Daisy ate a dead rotting Rattlesnake that one of the other hunters had left by our camp house in west Texas when she was about a year old.
Haven't had it in years but never spit any out. I am a sucker for happy endings and strapped cowboys.

My wife gave me a Lab puppy for Christmas in 2009. Problem for her was that she'd never been around a Lab puppy and didn't know what she was getting into. The list of chewed items includes:
My wife's I-phone. It went missing, and she found it out in the yard with a cracked screen and several teethmarks. We had a new screen put on it, and it still works.
Several pairs of my wife's shoes. Man, were those rough times.
My wallet...twice.

lets see.... siding on the house, wires underneat the truck (ABS and speedometer), they ate our lawn mower (at least all of the plastic on it), dozens of water hoses, any shoe that was left in the back of a truck or that fell out of the truck and we didnt notice, and sometimes the ones left in the garage, my mom accidentally locked my dog in the garage (she ran under as the door was going down) and it was 110 outside, she almost chewed a hole through the aluminum door, wires on trailers have been chewed up
I'll think of more soon.

The pups do pretty good when I'm watching them, other than the down comforter and a Internet cable. The kids watching them or lack of it is a different story. Two many flip flops to count. Corner of a leather chair. Cherry coffee table, door on matching entertainment center. Sofa pillow, wood on window sill camera, phone charger Any under garments they can find and hide in the dog crate for later chewing or drag out when you have guests. Then to top it off corner of brand new handmade quilt that I bought to replace the comforter.

Izzy chewed on the edge of the fireplace once and her bed several times.
Deuce is new to me (4 weeks) he chewed on a box of Nilla Wafers my youngest boy left next to the dog bed and later that day he went into the pantry and stole a new loaf of bread. Luckily my wife caught him and took it before he damaged it.

When ours was a pup she chewed up a $400.00 leather jacket, one of my moms expensive purses and my brand new iPod!

Our chocolate chewed the corner on every cabinet in the kitchen and the corners on the moulding. She chewed shoes, socks and just about any other type of clothing that was left on the floor. Luckily our black lab only chewed my cell phone charger cable.

My brit nearly ate his cedar dog house when he was a pup. I repaired it about three times then I made him one out of a barrel. "Go ahead and chew that up, big boy"

My wife's dog chewed the toe out of a pair of $900, shop maid to measure, shark skin boots that I had had for about 6 months. I left them next to the bed one night while we were still dating. I guess he didn't approve of our behavior.

when my lab was a pup he had a stretch that cost me a lot of money. Couch cushions, travel bag for my surfboards (about $800), several pairs of my girls shoes/boots, hats, tv remote, his beds, golf bag, rugs, I'm sure there was much more. He's too lazy now that he is 7

My border collie a few years ago ate 7 $100 bills off of my night stand. Here is what I had to do to get it back ! Waiting for this took all weekend. Tools that I used. It was like mining for gold. It was a delicate procedure. I was amazed at what else my dog had been eating besides money. Wash the pieces. Iron the pieces. Now it is like a big expensive puzzle. Finished - and I got it all back. I'll NEVER leave money on the nightstand again ! ~Doug
