We used it last year, at first we tried to pour a little in with our corn, that didnt work. Just a little bit of moisture and it gums up and won't let your corn out. Then we tried putting in in small feeders on the ground, all season long I never seen one deer pay any attention to it at all, never even got any pics of deer attempting to look at it.

Works very well in LA and Mississippi, so I tried it in South Texas. I poured little mounds of it in the road, also fed the same roads with a road feeder. The deer would literally walk around the rice bran mounds to get to the corn. Wind finally blew it away, nothing touched it, so I never tried it again.

I've had great success with rice bran in MS, AR, and TX. You might need to add a little sweet smelling flavor like koolaid or jello to get them to try it, but they will be back once they are used to it. It will not go through spin feeders and must be kept dry, so I use a covered trough feeder. They can't eat it up as fast as corn and it costs less right now.

It works in East Texas. I have been using it all summer along with protein pellets. I have put it in small mounds and even built a small trough for it. It was gone within 2 days. Coons and hogs probably like it as well as the deer. I have come up on the trough feeder with deer standing there so know that the coons didn't get it all.

I use it in Arkansas. The deer will tear it up and bypass corn. Like onestar said...it's cheaper than corn and works just as good IMHO.

my buddy told me about it last year and im pretty sure its the main ingredient in like acorn rage and all of those other attractants that cost $20 for like a 5# bag. 50# of rice bran cost like $5 or something cheap like that last year but anyways deer wouldnt touch it at first but when they did they went to town on it!! i just poured it out on the ground around my stand and within two days there were just big bare spots on the ground where it used to be. i also put some in front of a camera and they sat and ate it all day and night until it was gone... coons do love it too and those suckers just eat it in a hand full.... pretty much coons eat anything is what i have come to notice

We tried it last year in Anderson County. Deer may have eaten some if it weren't for the hogs. Hogs LOVE it and certainly will not stop until it is gone. We now have feeder pens to eliminate the hog problems so I think I might give it another go. I know that Swamp Donkey is 100% rice bran and it is $$$$$$ compared to Atwoods 50# rice bran.

We used in East Texas last year. I would sprinkle it out of a gallon freezer bag on the way to the stand. Deer would walk straight down the trail as they ate it. Some others would dump it out on stumps and deer would come to it. You can't put it in feeders if there is any moisture in the air though.

We use it all the time in Bosque County and deer love it...We noticed they come to it really well during the RUT...The bucks hit it all night long during the heavy rutting times...We lay the bag on the ground and start pulling making a 6 to 8 ft strip 4 or so inches deep...Dont know why but we have several Foxes that visit the rice bran as well...

Never tried it, but after reading this thread I plan on it. Maybe conduct a little science experiment, offering corn, rice bran and com'er deer placed about 4' apart. Put the game cam on it (video). See what they (deer/hog) prefer.
