ToeBee owned and handled by Dale Heaton of the Lone Star Texas NSTRA region won the NSTRA Endurance trial. Several Texas dog did really well. Here were a few updates from Debbie Heaton as the trial progressed;

Great showing by the Lonestar region of NSTRA in Montana!! Overall winner with Dale Heaton and 5th place finish for Bobby Clark and Newt! Great showing guys! Way to go! I'm hearing from lots of my friends that are in Montana bird dog training and hunting right now. Bird numbers better than expected! If your headed that way, Plentywood, Winnett, Baker are some areas that you need to investigate.

Hey Bill, I'm sure you noticed that Bobby Clark had two dogs that made it to Saturday. He stayed and hunted 3 days last year, and never got a point on wild birds. I'm sure your wife has his contact information. Let us know if he hunted this year. You might also reply to the Montana thread, since you went up there.

I talked to Dale yesterday. He was pretty excited. Dustin Nelson is also up there and ran 2 dogs. He's staying to hunt Huns and sharptails for a few days and then fish up in the mountains. He sent me a pic of his view from his campsite. Lucky man!

Are you planting birds for the LST region this year? Do you plan to run your pup?

I'm planting birds at the first 2 trials in October. I may run later in the fall season or wait until the spring season.
