Ruger LC9. I handled one today. I really liked it. Wasn't a fan of all the safety crap they put on it though.

How big is an lc9 compared to a pm9? Did the lc9 have sights

The LC9 is only slightly larger than the LCP. I have one and its great. I can carry iwb or even in a pants or short pocket. Shoots nice too. Safety feels cheap though.

Not sure how it compares to the pm9. It does have sights and they were decent for its purpose. I like the mag extension; I was able to fit all my fingers with about half-3/4 of my pinky on the grip. I thought the safety was kind of difficult to manipulate...seemed like a very small nub that would be hard to deal with in a stressful situation. Overall, I liked it. I haven't held any other sub-compact 9's though (I wouldn't put the XD sub compact in the same category).

Pm9 (or their new budget model) is by far the tiniest you'll find, unless you want to drop a grand ona Rorhbaugh R9.

I'm holding out for the Solo. Looks like Kimber put it out before it was ready, though. Waiting to see how the new and improved version is but I will be buying one if they get them fixed.

What problems have you heard the first versions having?
I'm not doubting that they do, I'm just curious.

Haven't seen official word from Kimber but reports were saying they had FTE issues and Kimber ended up either pulling them off the shelves or just not shipping more depending on who you listen to.

Again, not sure what's true, but I cant find one for sale anywhere, so something is up with them. One gun store told me they wouldn't be back on shelves until this coming spring/summer.

I carry several different guns depending on what I'm wearing. If shorts and a T shirt I carry a ruger LCP, with jeans and a shirt I may carry either a Kahr 40CW or a Kahr MK 9. If going someplace I haven't been before I carry a Taurus PT145 with 3 10rd mags. The rest of the time it's just 1 extra mag.

The Rohrbough R9 is the smallest 9mm in production. Ridiculous price though.

It's another belly gun along the lines of the Kahr. IMHO the SIG 239 followed by the Glock 26 are about as small as you can get for a fightable weapon. I think the Kahr and similar sized weapons are just a bit too small for anything much beyond contact to a few feet.

I can do softball size groups at 15 yards with my kahrp380. I never plan to get in a shootout with my pocket gun. It is there for a real bad day

But it's not about the the 380 it's about the 9mm. I agree with the bad day concept but the bad day is not range day either. Run a scenario or drill with the Kahr and chances are you'll miss most of the shots at 15 feet.

I picked up a Kahr CW9 last friday. Very compact and seems well made.
