Winchester M70 Featherweight 7mag or Remington CDL 700 7mag w/a Zeiss 4-16x50 scope w/ill. reticle. IDK if this particular scope even exists but it sure would be 1 VERY awesome scope if it does!

I'd have to say .308 and a 4x12 scope. You can handload light weights for varmints and heavy loads for elk. Ammo will never be a problem to find for it.

270 with 4.5-14 Zeiss or 3/3.5-18 Swarovski is my go to choice. Killed anything from varmits to hogs to Whitetail to Mule Deer to Red Stags with it.

For life, 7-08 or 25-06 Scope is going to be all relative to budget.

270 and 3x9 has worked so far.
Why not make this loads of fun and ask for gun/scope make/model? haha.

Just one? The same rig I use 90% of the time. Savage .270 and a Leupold VXII 3x9.

I'm also a 300 winmag fan. But I'm torn. For me it would be a Remington 700 in .308 or .300 winmag. With either the SWFA SS 5-20X50 or the Vortex Razor 5-20x50 . I love both of these optics, very easy to use both for ranging and the glass quality is superb.

I'm going with Jack on this one. 270.
Personally, I prefer a Leupy FX3 6 power with the ballistic reticle.
Thought for the day: Ducks were almost hunted to extinction long before camo was invented.

IMO, if I can't kill it with a .270, I really don't need to be shooting at it in the first place. Of course, the same can be said about almost all calibers if conditions are right. My current favorite is a Mod. 70 in .270 Win. wearing a Sightron SI 3x9x40 that will be upgraded to a 4x16x? in the near future.
