Has anyone ever hunted the archery only area of the Sam Houston National Forest?
Clearly God condones shooting stuff in the face or He wouldn't have created that...

Yes, and it's just like the rest of the forest-NO DEER! Ha ha ha!
What did you want to know about the area? There are a lot of bike/hike trails through some parts of it. I've seen several deer when I was walking those trails scouting. Never saw anything in the areas I hunted during season.
The deer in Sam are like dog-ghosts. Labador retriever in size, and almost invisible to the naked eye because they are so dang sneaky. They sure do leave lots of tracks though!
Seriously, there are some good places to hunt in Sam, but you'll find that EVERYONE is very tight-lipped about it. It's one of those-EVERY MAN FOR HIMSELF kind of places to hunt.

The only thing I ever hunted there was some geocaches and stumbled upon some guys I swear looked like they were meth cookers lol
