If you shoot 4 teal in one shot what do you call it? A quad?

Anyone ever do it?

I did it once last season hunting lake x.

Pulled in for an veining hunt, tossed out the deeks in two pods with a sexy little gap for them to land in. Went and hid the boat on the bank, covered it in net. Me and my pup went and hunkered down in some Lilly pads. And 1-2 minutes later wham I hear baby jet planes. Look behind me and there's 70-80. I just freeze, they bank once and I pull up, put a bead on the lead birds head and pow! 4 fall, 1 lands in tge deeks, 1 lands 2ft in front if me and 2 go over my head. I get tge two close ones, my pup gets the two farther ones. I unload, pick up deeks and I'm home real early! Lol

Nice! I have only shot a double, my wife shot twice and missed, I said "it's okay!" bam!! Two go down. Couldn't have happened at a better time!

I have killed 3 in one shot. They were floating together on the water. I guess 4 would be easy if you did it the same way.

I once exceeded my limit in two shots.

A single bird drops into my dekes just before shooting time...time rolls around and I flush the single bird up and one rising teal shot later, one in the bag. 1 minute after shooting time.

Two minutes later, a flight starts from across the lake in meandering curving flights towards me, as they swing past over open water, I hit the call and immediately they bank and swing my way, one circle over head then a big swing out and a low buzzing about six feet over the top of my deeks. I pop up and swing on one of the lead birds. Just a single shot and it rained teal. I put 5 down with one shot. Now I've got six birds down with two shots.

5 minutes into shootign light and the morning is done. I've got to get out of there before I get busted. Very memorable but not as pleasureable as a more extended hunt.

Now I swing on a rear bird in those circumstances.

If you did that in TX I'd say you were just a little early, weren't you?

Wifey person Carol is NOT above skillet shooting and has frequently had multiple birds down (or should I say stay down) from a single shot.

wink

I shot a limit of cans with one shot...soooo sweet. Dude swam around the point and straight into the deeks. Dumbest bird I've ever seen.

Sorry Cody ... Missed that part in your original post. I thought you may have been in another State or zone that already opened.

For your sake I hope the enthusiasm never wanes.

This will be my 56th waterfowl season. Don't know why the good Lord has allowed me so many but I'm certainly appreciative that He did. I honestly would have quit 12 years ago if it wouldn't have been for a seven week old yeller pup that entered my life at that time and we named him Cappy, short for Sunnyview's Captain Cork.

Six years later we added a yeller female, Remi. Then in February of 2010 when Cappy underwent career ending cancer surgery, our male Labradoodle pup Rusty joined us. Here he is with Carol at 8 months of age last September on his very first wild duck retrieve.

How can I quit with a wife and all these duck dawgs still counting on me???

And by the way ... I still look forward to it too ... Whoo Hoo!
