Looking at a used Beretta 390 w/28" barrel, black synthetic stock and choke tubes. What are your thoughts about this gun? Supposedly in like new condition and only 20 rounds fired. Reaasonable price? Thanks.

We have 1 390 and 2 391's. Wouldn't own any other Semi-Auto Shotgun.

No on the 3 1/2". 2 3/4" & 3" only. Great guns, along with the 3901, you can't beat them for the money.

Has anyone had any problems with this model? Was it made to shoot steel shot?

Took one to Argentina. Over 3500 rounds without cleaning. No failures even with short brass. 600 to 700 bucks is good price.

Best gun for the money. I own 5 Beretta 390's and 2 Beretta 391's. The 391's will shoot as well as the 390's. The issue comes when you clean the gun. The 390 is much easier to clean than a 391. The synthetic model comes in 2 varieties. The Walmart 390 is stamped made in USA, some are stamped made in Italy. I own both and have had no issues with either. If you want to customize it for trap or skeet you can pick up extra barrels. I have collected 28", 30", 32", stepped rib, flat rib barrels that I can swap between all my 390's. I had gas ports opened on all my barrels by Dan Suggs (guy can get anything Beretta).

Buy the gun. You'll love it and be hooked on these fine guns. By the way, used price on the synthetic model is about $500 if in good condition.

There isn't a better "bang for buck" in 3" semi-autos. I've put thousands of rounds through mine without any issue.

I have a beretta model A300 in 20ga. Its over 30 years old and still performs perfectly

I have a 3901 Citizen! Love it. Light weight, multiple chokes, shoots well, & functions the same!!

it's one of those guns that you can't have enough. They made a slightly simpler model for Walmart for a few years. It retailed at about $550. This gun has a slightly narrower rib than the more expensive models. I own several, the walmart is my mud and duck gun and has been shot a ton and it is great

Lot of positive feedback but I've yet to know of a model that someone hasn't found some weakness in. Somebody confess ... ha!

We have four 390's and one 3901. Again they are great guns. You can read more about them at www.shotgunworld.com

I have a 390 that will sometimes stick running the first shell into the barrel if you don't yank the receiver all the way back and let it fly. If you go gently the receiver goes half way forward and stops. A slight push sends it home ready to fire and I've never had any problems while shooting. I've wondered if there is something that could be smoothed over a little to make it run better, but hasn't really been a big enough concern to do anything about. I bought it for my wife's birthday (won't live that down)and can't convince her to shoot. The more I shoot it, the more I call it mine!

Beretta had carrier problems with the 391, but fixed it by replacing them with 390 carriers...

Go Figure.....

Some broken firingpins, after thousands and thousands of rounds.

Bulletproof, like an 870...
