Hey guys...quick question. What does Topwater mean? Barney? and any other Hack Hunter? I know Skillet Shot but let me know some slang for Hunting idiots and just gen hunting slang. It's all different in all regions. I went hunting in Ector (NE TX) and they call a tank a pool... Let's hear it

A coyote with a white tipped tail is called a "2 pointer".

"Sweet spot" has several meanings to me...to hold center mass on the middle button of the bad guys shirt when "aiming" a pistol for the "best successful result"... enough lead on the duck/goose at the front of the flock when pass shooting....the best hole in the tree line where the doves pass thru ... the crease just behind the shoulder and foreleg of a deer as an aiming point ... aka Texas Heart Shot aiming point on the south end of a north bounnd critter in full escape mode... the 10th of a grain powder setting in your favorite reload... aim small / miss small...the point in the figure 8 pattern of your crosshairs where you time your trigger squeeze to go off as you "deadbeat" your breath control and trigger discipline to come together ....all come to mind from various aspects of hunting/shooting...Lots more out there....like the very old Cree? Indian guide to my even older and crippled up grandfather on the last hunting trip of his life to Alaska, to hunt 'bou was "One Shot Meat, Two Shot Mebbe...Three Shot ...(then very loudly) NOOO Meat and a string of your favorite perjoratives!!".

My personal favorite was taught me by an uncle who was an Oil Scout for Atlantic Refining aka ARCO nowdays, out in the Sprayberry Field south of Midland & Big Springs at about age 7 with my 9 year old cousin riding around in the back seat of Uncle Frank's Scout car checking rigs about 1951-'52, was "when you go poop over a dry well hole...Be sure to hold your breath until you hear it hit!!!" over a 10K' deep hole...My mother did NOT think it was nearly as funny as all the West Texas "men" did.
