The can of worms has been opened.
Yes, I asked it.
What brand, type (pump, semi-auto, O/U, SxS), and caliber is the ideal gun in your opinion?
I started dove hunting years ago with a pump 20 gauge Winchester 1300 then I upgraded to a semi-auto Remington 11-87 Premier. My ideal gun might be a Browning Silver Hunter 12 ga or a Winchester SX3 12 ga. Feel free to tell me I'm wrong or make a case for why the brands I like are crap and the gauge I use is dumb. I like hearing different opinions.
Let's have a clean discussion and keep it above the waist. Ding, Ding!
Texas is better.

I am running my new Saiga 12 this weekend with modified poly choke. If its not working I will switch to my Red Label Over and under or Beretta 390 though

20 ga. Browning Gold Field Grade for sunny days or I break out the Browning Silver 12 ga Synthetic when it gets nasty. Shoot Rem Heavy Dove Loads or AA Super Sport.

Lets talk high volume dove hunting. Beretta A 391 has the rep for the price. Otherwise Benelli.

16 gauge Browning BPS with 7.5 shot, same gun in 20 gauge a close second. My thought is any gun in 16ga. My 24" barrel with ic choke struggled with the high flyers. Switching to the 28" lt.mod or may go to mod. for Friday.

I love my Ithaca 37. Yeah its like 61 years old but its light and shoots awesome, and with its action it might as well be a semi. and as far as I know it has never had a failure in that 61 years (grandfather bought it brand new in 1950.)and contrary to popular opinion the model 37 12GA DOES NOT kick that bad

Either my Benelli Super Sport 12 or my Montefeltro 20 - depends on which shells I find in my closet.

I pretty much just stick to my SBEII since that's what I use for duck hunting but if it was only dove I might look at another Benelli 12 or 20...hell I'd get both since this is fantasy land talk...and add a 28ga to that as well.
I have a Browning 525 Citori that is awesome but I just like my SBEII so much and from time to time that 3rd shot really does come in handy.
Dear Lord please bullwhip me for saying this but I agree, Marcstar is in the lead. Please nobody use this as a quote!!!
