PSE Evo has had good response,
Hoyt Element gets some folks excited
Bowtech Invasion
Mathews Z7 extreme
IE based on which brand you prefer they all have a great bow out this year and it just depends what you are looking for.

Scot said it best. It just depends on what you like and what you shoot the best. They are all good, but if you are not comfortable with the bow then it is absolutely no good to you. I like my Destroyer, but you might hate the bow. Picl out what fits you and your budget the best and then there is your anser.
If some animals are good at hunting and others are suitable for hunting, then the Gods must clearly smile on hunting.

If you've shot a mathews and a mathews I'd think you'd pick the mathews.
Key will be finding enough shops with different bows and also that are setup correct so you can give it a valid comparison.
Also remeber if you don't say anything nearly all pro shops will have the bows turned way down. They will feel a bunch different at 70 lbs.

Do not leave out or rule out the Limb Saver bows. I shoot the Proton and I have shot every bow on the Market. This thing is a BEAST. but shoot them all and pick which one fits you best, as when it all comes down to it you will shoot better with a bow that you picked out yourself and not one someone sold you on..

Top picks for Me on stuff I shot was...
Hoyt Carbon Element BowTech Invasion Hoyt CRX 32 Strother SR1 Bear Carnivore
Didnt really like the Destroyer or any of the Mathews Z7's
I can honestly say that if I would have shot the Strother or the Invasion before I bought my Maxxis 31 a while back there miight not be Hoyt stickers on my hunting rig. I like my Maxxis but those other two are great shooring bows.
Mathews Legacy Mathews Ovation
Square Up Archery & Lightning Bowstrings Staff Shooter

What's the best rifle, only you can say. So true, you are going to get as many answers as there are bow companies, and what works for one will not work for another. All the top companies are going to be good.

Darton for me. My nephew just bought a Z7 Extreme and brought it over to my house to let me shoot it, it was smooth but, my Darton is faster shooting 6 lbs less and a whole lot quieter. I have a freind that does a lot of tourney shooting and was a die hard Mathews fan, but after shooting the new Darton's he now owns two of them. He said it amazing that they shoot faster at low poundages. He still perfers the Mathew's at higher poundage's. I shoot 54 lbs and shot through 2 deer last year at 27 yds and buried my rage 6" in the dirt on the other side.
Death is certain and the end is always near.

Try out the bowtech invasion! People have talked good about the destroyer to! I have a Z7 and LOVE it but when I shot the invasion it was in a whole different class(to me). Those are just my opinions go out and see what you like best.

I think a better question is, are there any bows to stay away from?
In other words, is there any brand out there that the bow could be considered the, "Yugo," of archery?

You should try a New Breed bow out if you can.. Shot Bowtech forever until I picked one up. Reasonably priced, best warranty and support of any bow I have owned, smoothest drawing and shooting bow I have ever touched..I have info on the shops carrying them. PM me for details

I shoot the new EVO and I love it. Smoking fast, smooth, and forgiving. I am very partial to PSE and this by far is the best bow they have ever made.
I avoid Dick's and hope they fold.

I've shot several bows that were supposed to be "The Best". Some feel great in my hands and others don't.
Whichever one you shoot the best is the best one.

Way too many options and opinions. Everyone is going to tell you their opinion based on what they shoot or who sponsors them. Truthfully all the mftgs make great bows.
For example, I shoot Mathews but my BIL shoots a very nice PSE and my nephew shoots Bowtech.
