Ok, So I am still new to this forum and I wanted to share a hunting story and pics while we are still in the "off season for deer".I didnt get to hunt much last year due to the fact that my wife was pregnant and having a few issues during the main part of hunting season.Anyway,around May my father and I went out to fill our deer feeders and at our place in Pawnee and we found our feeder pen destroyed and the feeder on the ground in very bad shape.Upon further investigation we could not find any cattle tracks and after completely going over the whole scene,we believed it to be the work of a big hog.I had just put up a brand new feeder not 3 weeks before and it was in bad shape.New barb wire was busted open and and on the top wires you could see long course black hair.I then made it my mission to go after this huge hog and my wife and I went out on a the very same night.We had 8-9 pigs at the feeder early and I let them all feed and eventually walk(we had dumped the remains of the feeder on the ground after finding it in pieces).At nearly completely dark,this bad boy came out and met his fate courtesy of a 270. Winchester to the brain.Pictures will not do the hog justice on actually how big it really is,but we tried.My father and I guesstimated it to be a little over 400 lbs or more.




And we are not hanging back in he photo to make it look bigger. LOL

what round did you use? (brand, grain, tip,etc..) been thinking about a 270 rifle but wasn't sure.

I was using good ol Remington Core Lok in 150 gr. and yes my little girl is fine.Thanks for asking.Just waiting patiently for her to become old enough to either hunt with me or her older brother.(He is a better hunter)..ha ha.This pig did have some huge cutters on the left side(not in the pic),but he was also a fighter and had most of the right side broken off somewhat.

It was probably my biggest hog to date.Scary thing is I think there was a bigger one there that didn`t come to the feeders that often as I had seen one a year before that might have been bigger.We have some massive pigs on that place.Later on during deer season I shot this one below as he was constantly running off my deer.He is a big ol` beast as well.Notice the drag marks on his shoulder.

Top black from Pawnee,Tx the other hog from Kenedy,Tx.Both places about 10 miles from each other.Have another place that has had some monsters too in between.

Most people add weight to the hogs they kill. Looks like that hog is just as big as you say he is. Congrats on killing that monster.
