Find a boot with outdry instead of goretex

I can tell you this ....There is no way that anyone can make a completely water proof boot unless its made out of rubber. If it's not made out of rubber, if you stand in water long enough ,it WILL leak. Gortex liners in boots have a bad habit of getting holes torn in them just from taking them off and on. I wear MUCK brand if I know that I'm gonna be getting wet. If water is'nt a problem then I wear just regular 'ol Ariat workboots or my cowboy boots.

Yep, if you're standing in water or doing a bunch of wading, go with rubber. For a water resistant leather boot, I really like my Danners. Super comfortable, very warm, and keeps your feet dry in rain, wet grass, or stepping in water.
Silver spurs and gold tequila keep me hanging on. Pretty girls and old cantinas give me shelter from the storm.

Been wearing Danners everyday for the last 8 years, on-duty, in every imaginable weather condition and have never had wet feet. They're comfortable and they last. The soles wear out before the boots do.

i have a set of cabelas full draw boots i think they are called. cost me 99 dollars and i just got back from Colorado doing some drift boating down the gunnison river. i wasnt in the river long, maybe 5 mins at a time, and my feet were dry. now they only come up to just above my ankle, but if the water didnt go above the top of them they were fine. 3 days in a row.

Danner. They put out a 50% promo code last year. Hopefully they'll do it again.

and who make the outdry hunting boots??? About 6 or 7 companies. Just google them Goretex is just a sleeve or liner... Out dry bonds to the actual fabric...so it's lighter also when the shoe gets wet on the out side I will say my danner sharp tail gtx snake boats have been awesome. They 17 or 18 in tall and have never leaked and I hunted some swampy stuff.. They are goretex

Foreverlast makes a really good hunting boot. It's snake proof and water resistant. It's a pull on, not a zipper type boot. It's got a really comfortable sole in it like a tennis shoe and it's super light. Just my two cents...

La Crosse Alpha SST is a good boot but be prepared to buy a new pair every season due to the boot cracking overtime i have been through 3 pair and all have only lasted about a year.

I don't know what's best but I bought a pair of leather Wolverines lined with GoreTex about 25 years ago and they're still going strong. I can still wade through water without getting my feet wet. The leather hasn't cracked in spite of my horrible care of it. It was hard to find a pair that wasn't insulated at that time. Don't know if the non-insulated thing has anything to do with it.
Practice doesn’t make perfect. Practice makes permanent.

La Crosse makes a grate rubber shell boot, leather with gortex I'd go with the Danner, well oiled Chippewas or beeswaxed Redwings also wear grate... but if you're wading or tromping through the mud go with rubber.

Love my Danners. 4 years now and no wet feet. I have never "stood" in water in them, but I have walked through water over ankle deep many times. I have no doubt they would leak if I was standing in water. They're not meant for that.

good old red wings that i've had since 1989 when i'm bird hunting or sitting in a stand. I've never replaced anything on these boots and they still work great. Danners when I'm stalking, for sure. I'm starting my 3rd year with these Danners and they're extremely comfortable. I've walked through water without getting wet but I haven't stood in water for long periods of time. The only problem with my Danners is that they're lace-ups. And after spending an entire day walking miles, at my advancing age and sour back, are at times hard to take off just because I'm not quite as flexible as I used to be!

I made the switch to all rubber a few years back but they make my feet sweat something terrible due to long walks I have to the stands (even uninsulated). Then when my socks are soaked with sweat they wont dry and my feet get cold (the few days over last two years it has gotten cold that is). Otherwise i have to take my boots and socks off to let them dry - obviously this doesnt help the scent situation. Biggest reason i went with rubber was like yours - Cabelas "crossdraw?? boots leaked and grassburs (tons on my lease and regular cordura boots and shoe strings were like magnets).
I got a pair of cabelas snake boots this year that have the scent control, water resistant and appear a bit more cooler than the rubber boots.

The Redhead snake boots are very comfortable. I hunt hard in south Texas and they have lasted me seven years.

unlike hunting270 i went through 3 pairs of redheads in two years due to leakage. First pair where awesome until turkey season (8 months old) they started leaking. Second pair leaked on the first outing and same with the third pair. all three pairs leaked where the sole is mated to the boot. zipper boots are a joke when it comes to water proofing. my best boots are my original basic issue mostly leather with some nylon(maybe cordura) with a little bit of water repellent i can step/walk fast through 6 inch's of water in a creek/river that is roughly 25ft wide and maintain dry feet. i have had to stand in the water a few times due to slipping on rocks ect and find i have about 20 seconds total before water starts to soak through the nylon or cordura not sure exactly what their made of.
met a fellow service member hunting in colorado he wore "cabelas guide boot 8 in" they are all leather and he loved them. i have searched for them and cannot find the exact boot he was talking about.
she said ,why does that ammo have pretty green tips on it? the guy said its the eco-friendy ammo.
