New to the U.S. market this year ! Something different for sure...

Czechpoint-USA is selling Alfa-Proj manufactuered revolvers.

I got mine in today from the FFL and I must say that I am very impressed for the money spent.

The gun came in a non-descript case, the label on the side says HOLEK 830.

Case contains two cleaning brushes, a test target from the factory (this gun was shot in Feb 2011) at 15 meters, a multilingual set of instructions, and some Czechpoint advertising (not pictured).

The gun has some oil film on it, it is very tight (cylinder) and the best I can describe this alloy is that the gun feels like a rubber/plastic. Not cheap just different, I guess I was expecting a metallic feel. The gun reads CZECHPOINT on the barrel/muzzle and Alfa Proj.

Bullets slide easily into the cylinder and come out without effort using the ejector rod. The trigger is very smooth in double action operation. The hammer takes a liberal amount of force to bring it back and set it for single action use, I hope this breaks in a little for easier cocking. The grips are contoured and textured, rubberized not plastic. Balance and weight is good.

The selling point for me is that this gun is a full size 38 special. I cannot stand snubnose or pencil thin grips and barrels/muzzles.

Here is some comparison photos for the size next to my Ruger GP100 (.357).

So I will clean it up and fire it over the weekend and follow up with my thoughts on that.

Looks sort of interesting. If you don't mind how much did it cost?

$ 299.99

I cleaned it up yesterday finishing with light gun oil, which today seems to have made a grey frost on the alloy frame....

I have never owned an alloy frame gun is there something specific to clean them with?

BB

From what you described (the feel of it). It may have a self-lubricating finish on it (like a duracoat-sl or something). Only thing I can think of that would make it frost up.
