Does anyone know anything about AYW taxidermy in Rendon, TX.

They were doing a mount for my dad, and have had it for over a year, he has been calling & going by for three weeks now with no response from anyone. Thanks for any info!

I've been waiting 2 years this July 22 on an axis hide!! It was my sons first axis..... Called MANY times, left MANY voicemails, no answer.... Already written it off as a loss as well as my payment.

Crooks!!

I went there about 6 years ago and took a deer to get processed. I picked up my deer a week later and when I set the box of meat on the pick-up bed to look for my backstaps, there weren't any!!!

I walked back in the store with my box in hand and told the blond headed owner,,,,that there are no backstraps. He said " What do you want me to do about it?" I said Find them. He said Get out of my store!!

I hate dishonest people. Theu had just opened and Rodney at Flicks who was going through tough times closed that year,..I didn't have much choice. Now Rodney is still doing process in Burleson,..worth the drive,IMO.

I bad mouth them every chance I get, I thank the OP today for that opportunity!

I am also looking for these guys! I took my whitetail in there in november 2010, and got my meat back 3 weeks later. Never heard back about my shoulder mount... Just went there yesterday looking for them and nothing has changed there in several months... I just hope the freezer is still on! Im going to try and find the owner and where he lives to confront him in person! At this point I just want my buck back to take to another shop....

Rodney was one of the biggest flakes I have dealt with. His father was a great guy to deal with and we tried using Rodney for a couple of years after his dad was gone. It was a shame what he did to tarnish the name of Flicks after his father had treated everyone so fairly.

Glad to hear he is better to deal with than he used to be, but I won't trust him again.

I am spearheading a claim with the fort worth police department small claims court and Texas fish and game I dropped my first Texas whitetail a nice 8-pointer there the day after thanksgiving last year and now for the last 3 months only get mail box is full when I call there. I also went to the feed store behind there and they told me that the shop has been closed down since around the time I was last there. If anyone else would like to get involved feel free to email me if we all get together maybe we can do more than just talk about it on websites.

How is the Fort Worth PD going to help? If I understAnd correctly. they are located in Rendon, wouldn't that fall outside their jurisdiction?

I agree lots of first timers in this post, but a controversial subject or business is all that is needed to turn a lurker into a poster.

Goodluck, hopefully the lesson was learned by.more than those involved, sometimes a memory is worth a little more than the lowest price or most convenient location.

I drove several hours in 2001 to take my 14pt to a trusted taxi, and he wasn't cheap, fiberglass septum(sp?), glass eyes, etc, they all got this, he only knew one way to mount deer, and it looks fantastic.

Goodluck guys, I hope it works out for all involved.

^^^^ these post are to inform and educate people so others can avoid another bad situation. Most people don't know a bad taxi from a good one, and unfortunately sometimes this is the only way to find out.

To the people involved I hope this turns out in your favor.

We always stress to everyone DO YOUR HOMEWORK before you drop your trophy off with just anyone. Unfortunately too many hunters get sucked in with a low price and the promise of a speedy turn a round.

I live in Spring, North of Houston, and have sent all three of my mounts to Hibler's in Kingsville (south of Corpus Christi). They take a while to deliver but they do great work and deliver as promised. Well worth the drive.

If you want a good meat processor in Rendon my uncle does it. He was a meat cutter for Safeway years ago and has had his own shop for years. He is retied now but during deer season he does it. If any one is interested PM me and I will get his phone number for you.

Yep they are crooks!!! My youngest brother took a deer there and went to pickup it was in a VERY small box and Russell asked where is the rest guy got all p.o'd and said go get some off the rack and Russell said no thats not mine I want my deer! He said well I guess your out of luck! And yes I had to get in the middle of the both of them Russell was going to beat snot out of him. So yes we tell everyone we know not to go there and I can't believe they are still in business!!

AYW Taxidermy is WAY DOWN on my list of folks I would do business with.
