Anyone own one? What do you think about it? Thinking about getting one. Or would you go with a S&W 642 .38 or what?

If you want to come take a look at one let me know, I have two coming in tomorrow.
The ones I've seen have been well put together. The one I sold was to somebody who had the 38 and was real happy with it

In general, I think Ruger makes some of the finest and best bang for your buck revolvers. I just can't imagine shooting a 357 out of short frame. I have a short framed 38 and it's got quite a bark to it.
I'm a dude who likes long barrels!

I bought one from Viking Armory a couple weeks ago and really like it. My Son, Wife, and I put it through it's paces and were all impressed. I also have an LCR 38 so we could compare recoil between them shooting 38s. We couldn't tell much difference. Recoil on the 357 was manageable; really about like the 38 shooting +P. Cylinder lock up is a little tight but that's good. It will loosen up as I shoot it in. Much better to start tight than to start loose. The thing I don't care for is the front sight. It's black and my old eyes can't see it well. Most replacement front sights are about $60 which is stupid high. I found one for about $30 but haven't bought it yet.
Practice doesn’t make perfect. Practice makes permanent.
