Posting to keep an eye on this
Gun control is like trying to reduce drunk driving by making it illegal for sober people to own cars.

Would like to thank CraftyDingo again. He made his 3rd trip out and brought his dad this time.
They hunted part of the night, shot a nice boar and nice young female bobcat. Taylor will post his pictures soon I hope.
We was finally blessed with 2.6 inches of rain the night before.
We do not have internet service out there, if you have any questions, please feel free to give us a call at 325-660-1762.

How do you look for the week of Labor Day? 9/5-9/9? How's your success rate since the rain? Do you have lights on the feeders?
Thanks, --Scott

Thanks, --Scott We have not needed feeders at all. We didn't harvest our wheat this year and thus feeders aren't needed to kill hogs. I did start 3 feeders this past weekend because we will be plowing those fields to sew wheat the first part of Sept. Not sure how that will effect the movement of the hogs. We have had 100% success rate with each group thus far. We use red spotlights if needed. Most hunters have used the moonlight in the middle of the month with great success. We are booked for the weekend of Sept. 10th. As for the rain, we have noticed that hogs do not need to hit the normal watering holes with rain in potholes of the creek for a few days. Also, the hogs tend to root in the creek bottoms more so while they are wet. Thanks, Matt

CraftyDingo is bringing another friend out this Saturday. Put up a game cam two days ago on one feeder and had hog pics the first night at 4am. Nice meat hogs, about 50-75lbs.
Scattered corn on perimeter of wheat fields last night and it was gone today. Lots of tracks all over the place.
Hookem, Matt

I went back out to matts with my dad 8/13/11 we saw a large numbers of hogs. We managed to kill one, then to our surprise ran into a bobcat and were able to take it to. All together a successful and fun night, as always Matt was great.
Thanks Matt!

Thanks for coming back a forth time CraftyDingo. This was my first booking to coming up with a zero. We did kill a 4'6" rattler.
Hogs moved earlier than they had been. They beat us to several spots on the property and managed to get the corn and move on.
We had 33 hogs moving at sunup, I didn't expect them to head up a mountain header and over the mountain, I had set us up on a choke point. They're isn't much sign of hog on the mountain or in the headers since the middle of June.
Again, we are booked the next two weekends.
Thanks again CraftyDingo and Jacob.

Damn it Matt...I'm all sad and missing you and Chris. This has been a stupid busy week, and until November or December, there's no way I can get back down...damn you and Chris for making me feel like family, now I want to turn around and make the 16 hour drive again! Save a few hogs for me and my family...we'll be back. Again, and Again, and Again, and Again. You guys rock! Next time, I'm bringing some steaks from my cows, hopefully you'll be out of the burn ban and we can grill 'em up over some mesquite on that outdoor pit you've got. It'll be GOOOOD stuff! Thanks guys, miss ya already, look forward to next time... --Scott

Scott,
thanks for the kind words. We had Sam from the THF that weekend. Hunted that same area and had hogs both nights, missed the first night, but got two nice kills out of two groups the next night, we had one group of 30-40 hogs that second night that flew into the baited area, they knew it was there, didn't even mess with the trail of corn left to lead them into closer range.
Hunting has been tougher than past month. Opening weekend of dove season seemed to change their movements with tons of shots SE of the property. On a good note, acorns have started to fall and we have tons of oaks that should draw them back in soon.
Had tractor problems that have slowed the wheat planting, should have been finished already.
Hogville was named properly because of the abundance of hogs every night, game cam had them in there after the feeder was filled in Aug everynight, but as of Sept, its deerville and no hogs, I contributed that to dove season.
Had CraftyDingo and his dad Mike out this past weekend, once again, we were behind them as they got out alot earlier than normal. Earliest we have seen hogs has been around 10:30 and at 10pm, they had already been to one baited spot. Mike did get a shot, but missed.
Look forward to future hunts, thank you to those that have booked.
Matt and Chris
