My daughter wants to start bow hunting (17) been hunting with me since she was in diapers. One thing I think she needs is a chest protector. Any one out there with any ideas or suggestions.

Why do you think she needs one? Curious?

Sorry, but if you are in need for a chest protector...then hunting safety sound be address first before hunting is considered.

No arm guard here. Been shooting a bow 27 years and havent ever slapped myself.

work on shooting form and she should be fine I never shoot with a arm gard if need be a long sleeve shirt at the most

I have never heard of a "chest protector". What would it protect from happening? I have seen a few guys wear an arm guard, but those aren't necessary either. When I taught all three of my boys to shoot, they each slapped their forearm a couple of times and that pretty much taught them to use proper form or else it was gonna hurt!

Ok, Man what a response to a question that ment any ideas on a vendor or type of chest protector. But since we want to go into the Form of shooting area I am just curious which form should be worked on. The one shooting from a pop up, shooting from a tree stand, shooting from a crouched position, or maybe shooting from a twised position from any of these, or just standing straight up infront of target and no pressure or animal in front of you. I know that the idea a putting on a PPE (Personal Protection Equipment) for some is total unheard of, but I know I never wore safey glasses untill I spent several weeks in total pain from a metal shaving going into my eye. It only takes one time and when women have body parts that are a little more sensitive than getting your arm slapped I feel if you can take precaution it should be done.
Now how many never wore a safety harness until we started hearing about hunters injured for life or even killed falling from a tree. It is not a matter of pride wear or not wear it is a matter of WHAT IF

I was just asking what type of accident would a chest protector guard the chest from. I understand what is on the chest that needs protecting, I am just trying to find out what sort of accident would cause the chest to be injured.

I have shot bows for alot of years and I am trying to picture what a chest would need to be protected from. that's all.
