I have a remington feeder. For the past couple of days I have been having problems with the corn not coming out of the feeder. The feeder goes off on time , but no corn comes out. It apparently gets stuck inside feeder container. What can be the problem? It is a plastic feeder.

Did you check to see if there was a blockage of the funnel? Sometimes errant corn cobs, pieces of the bag of corn or other miscellaneous items can choke it. Also check to make sure there is no water seepage into the barrel that would make the corn clump together.

I'm not sure which feeder it would be. On some feeders if they have a cone inside to funnel the feed into the hole over the spin plate, the cone can shift which blocks the hole and you get nothing out. Check, to make sure you don't have a range cube or some other type of obstruction clogging the hole. If it doesn't have a cone, some people are putting plastic screens in their feeders to keep the trash and range cubes from blocking the feeder. These screens, in theory are a good idea, but the ones I've seen in practice can clog up with kernels and once what is underneath is fed, the rest stays on top.

On the Remington squarish unidirectional air feeders, the only problems I've seen is that the plastic paddle wheel can either break or get off center. The sheetmetal screws on the sides let enough moisture through to cause clumps if you are putting protein in it. They have a dynamite solar panel though.

Best I can do for you. Good luck.

It was blocked with protein that turned into a hard ball. I guess it was cheap protein.

naw, cheap aint the problem. the protein swells if any moisture seeps into the barrel. We have found that gravity fed protien feeders are the way to go. Good luck

Protein does not work to well in spincast feeders. It is the shape of the pellets thay like to stick togather and stop it up.
