Last year I purchased a Mossberg 100 ATR 30-06 as a back up gun. But after going to the range I fell in love. I was getting less than 1in groups at 100 and right at 1 in at 200yd. But I love the 25-06 and now since Mossberg has the fluted barrel and muzzel break on the 4x4 I am just wanting to know if anyone has some feed back on these.

Not sure how much they changed the stock but I wouldn't dare own one of their original laminate stocked 4x4s. Was worse than any savage stock I've ever seen.
Glad you had good luck with your ATR when I worked at Academy we had three of them come back to the store for various reasons.

Thanks for your info. I know you do not hear much about them. Maybe some are afraid to let it out they own one. But it is man made and like cars you get good ones and bad ones some brands more bad than good. I was surprised about the 100 ATR

My 243 has been a fine gun and shoots 1.25 to 1.5 groups which is plenty accurate for me. I could probably get it to inside and inch if I tried several different types of ammo and put some time in at the range. For the price it does what it's supposed to.

I think in general the quality of low/moderate prices guns have gotten a lot better in the past few years.

I like the mossberg line theyre cheap but still good rifles for the buck. I have personally killed a lot of animals with the ATR I wish I had bought the 4x4.

Thanks for all the input. I think this is just like any other product on reviews. If you compare to dollar value and results it will match up with just about anything. You can enjoy a fire arm alot more when you are not working just to pay it off and if it does not preform perfect it is alot easier to live with it. It also leaves room to invest on options for it like optics and custom work. I have throwed alot more away on hunting than what a new 4x4 is going to cost and the way that the goverment is trying to head in the selling of firearms any thing you can purchase and have now is a good thing. Just my opinion
