Friend of mine has 200 acres and has all planted in corn. Have been out several times and only saw hogs one time. Killed a nice one (209 lbs.) but haven't seen them anymore. Am sure they are coming out after dark but wanted to know if anyone can give me some advise on baiting them, maybe setting up a trap (which I have) or get a night vision scope. I had the trap out but with already 200 acres of corn they didn't even sniff my trap. Actually found their route to the corn and waited for them and they came out at 8:40 pm. See their damage almost daily but not them. Have not tried it in early morning but maybe that is an option. Seems to be a little cooler than afternoon so maybe I should give the mornings a shot. Let me know what you think. Could use some advise. Thanks.

Get a bucket from homedepot with a lid and fill half way with corn, then add 3 beers, gallon of milk, and either grape or strawberry syrup...or koolaid. Let that sit in your garage and "cook." The smellier the better. And if tu need some help killing the hogs let me know. I'm game.

Kool aid packets, anything sweet smelling, they love.
Late night and early morning 3 or 4am is when we see them the most.

Do you have a night scope or can you see through a regular scope that time of night?

Gonna have to get you a night scope and stay up and wait on them, if they are there you'll see em sooner or later.

They are definitely there, just a matter of when. Going to try the sweet stuff that has been suggested and see how that goes. The corn field was just harvested so there is a good but of corn on the ground. BUT, they have no cover so I am guessing they are going to be more skiddish. Does anyone have a suggestion for a decent night vision scope?

I'm a newbie to the site, but only been hunting for a few years. My most experience has been hog hunting on a farmers land... The hogs like to spread out in the corn fields and pick a different spot every night, so Night vision is about the best method before the corn has not been harvested. Gen 3, but you are looking to spend $3k or more. After the corn has been harvested, them piggies tend to get hungry and easier to bait...
Are you familiar with Pig Pipes? This is about the cheapest and easiest method I like to use.

You will find dozens of mixtures here that will work. Just remember stuff like Koolaid mix and stuff with sweet bitter smell will bring em in. The smellier/sweeter, the better.
