12ga lead dove/target loads are the most bought and shot ammo of any kind....pretty much everyone buys them in bulk. About a month before the season you'll see Academy, Cabelas, and pretty much any store that carries hunting stuff will have pallets and pallets of shells. Look to spend between $50 and $60 for a 10 box case (or flat is the actual name for this size).
Academy loves to sell those 1oz cheapo loads. They like to quote the higher speeds but for lead loads you don't need but 1200fps or so. I like the 1 1/8oz loads...that's your standard dove load.
My favorate dove loads have been Rio's that I buy from Cabelas. They are much higher quality than some of those cheapo promo loads you can buy from Academy or Walmart but at the same time they are pretty cheap as well.
Dear Lord please bullwhip me for saying this but I agree, Marcstar is in the lead. Please nobody use this as a quote!!!

Do those Rio loads burn clean (compared to say, Remington Shurshots), or have any of you had issue with gas operated guns up to 500 rounds? I've never used them myself, but have heard they are a great economy shell. ----------------------------------------- Edit: I read the Rio Steel thread. Answered my question pretty much

Several years ago Cabelas would send me a $50 off $250 purchase coupon once a month. I bought 2 cases of Remington Nitro 3" steel every month for a Year. Im still shooting those $129 a case Remingtons. Worked out to Free shipping and $11.99 per box.

Answered my question pretty much I've never noticed anything out of the ordinary. Then again I don't shoot a gas gun so that kind of thing isnt really a concern.

Back in the day Walmart used to put their shells on clearance for like $5 a box. Federal, Remington, Winchester...I'm still shooting them from years ago.

Academy loves to sell those 1oz cheapo loads. Yeah, I loaded up on them 2 seasons ago when they went on sale for less than $4/box, I'm still shooting them. I'll need to buy more tho before season starts. I was worried they were gonna outlaw lead before I shot them all.

I have a surplus of flats of Remington Nitro Sporting Clays loads (1,300 fps) with 1 1/8oz of 7.5s. If you're in the Dallas area and need them, I don't mind parting with some of them. I can go $75/flat.

Rogers has no stock. Looked up remington lead and the only thing they show is STS... and they are sold out.
Strange. Is this often the case?

I always wait til I get a deal from cabelas and but it then. Right now they have free shipping. And if you can time it just right you will get a $25-$50 off purchase in the mail. Last year I got 4 cases of Kent faststeel for about $11 a box.
