A while back my wife and I were sitting on our back porch at dusk. There was a cottontail hopping around about 50 yards from us. Suddenly, a bobcat came out of the woods and, within seconds, grabbed the rabbit and took it up a cedar tree. I retrieved my .22 rifle and went to the tree where I had last seen it. It was so dark by then that I could barely make out anything but a dark blob in the tree. I aimed the rifle the best I could and fired. The rabbit fell about 12 feet and hit the ground running. A short time later the bobcat scrambled from the tree and ran back towards the woods. I got off another 4 or 5 shots at him before he disappeared. My wife brought a flashlight and we looked under the cedar tree for blood, but found only pee (not sure rabbit or cat...didn't taste it to see, ha!). A couple of days later I saw buzzards in the woods and tracked down the dead bobcat. My wife thinks the rabbit ran directly to the store and bought some lottery tickets!
