Does anyone know about how how many fps you lose by using a whiskers biscuit?

From what I've read, approximately 3 fps.

At only a three fps loss, no, there is no need to go to a fall away rest. Now if you are haveing trouble with your fletchings or vanes getting tore up and you don't want to use blazer vanes then yes, you may want to use a fall away rest.

Another con:
The wb harnesses the arrow the entire letdown cycle. Therefore if you have form flaw it will increase inconsistency.

I liked my biscuit. I'm glad glad I switched though.

If you have form flaw your concern should not be about a WB it should be about practice time. I have bows with and without them doesnt matter much to me its personal preference.

Not if you use silicone spray on your bristles.

I like them for the fact you can shoot down without our arrow swaying all over. Could be form flaw on me but when I use the fall aways when i draw the arrow sways all around and will not seat?

I like my whisker biscuit. Never had a problem with it tearing up my fletchings or vanes, but I do have a friend that went to a fall away because it was tearing up his vanes. I think it has more to do with the cheap arrows.

I really like the wisker bisquit, drawbacks for me is increased noise and have lost a few fletching to it. and yes those were on cheaper arrows

Durability, noise, forgiveness,..ect.

Not a fan of the WB...to many good full containment dropaways...limb driver, trophy taker, ripcord, QAD..ect.

I put a biskit on my new Hoyt simply because the archery shop I bought it from didnt have any left handed drop aways. I havent had time to buy a drop away and have it changed. I used to hate them but I tbink it was more of flaws in my shooting. I havent had any issues with it so far. I will eventually go to a drop away but I am not in any hurry.

WB was cool 10 years ago. Time to put on bigboy pants and get a newer and better rest.

Longbows were cool 100 years ago doesnt mean they arent killing critters today. Use what works best for you. I shoot a 3 year old Assenhimer recurve and 12 year old Matthews FX and they still kill deer every year and guess what aluminum arrows and fixed blade heads do to, but dont tell anybody with bigboy pants on cause they think speed, mechanical heads, and carbon are the only way.

Only problem I found with a biscuit is when it rains and freezes (in Michigan) that is a problem.

Drop aways rattle and jump the arrow if the arrow is not balanced and tuned with the bow. For target I would use a drop away for stalking I would use a biscuit.

Was out at Amistad area 5 (yesterday) to show my daughter the difference between Michigan Deer and Texas deer hunting, hit two with a rock, hit a pig later and broke a really good walking stick, seems the boar got a little pissed off.

My daughter just moved here with the x-wife (lived here 15 years ago) she hunted Michigan and can't wait to hunt Texas. She said we should just take the bows and walk past where the streets end. That is my girl.

She really laughed when it is considered a challange to hunt without an ATV or baiting we did that the last couple of years in Michigan she got a couple of shots off, just needs more practice.

Oh, by the way my daughter is now 12, hope to see you at Amistad in area 5 this fall (depends on my work if I can get down here), think we might set up a lunch table and wait for the evening hunt. That is when the hunters come back from the deep and best areas of hunting and chase the deer back to the parking lot.

Hey I have been bow hunting for over 30 years and took all the work out of the chase.

Best Regards and good hunting. Think these rock doves in the x-wifes backyard are going to be history with a couple of fluffy arrows as my daughter calls them.

Mark

Wow so my old original Black Bear (the fiberglass recurve were known to break at the time) with the old stick on plastic rest that killed 15 or so deer.... Was not good.

Hey it is all good over the years, I tried to start with my dads bow that he bought before WW2.

Bought the first Black Bear on the market.

If you want to be true, go carve a bow from an Osage Orange bush.

After tat it is all good discussion
Regards

Mark

Just forgot, I made a bow and can make arrow heads also. Fun to make and shoot but I have more respect when I am going to kill a deer.

I want my arrow go fly the fastest (carbon) and kill the cleanest. Not the highest tech but the best tuned and quiet, for a good clean kill in the shortest time.

Regards

Mark

I have killed stuff with every kind of rest there ever was. Years and years ago we were killing the hell out of deer with a flipper rest that stuck on the side of the riser. If it works for you then use it. I remember when the whisker biskit came out. It was a huge improvement in my book over what I was using. Dont listen to the negativity. Go figure it out for yourself if it works for you or not. I find it extremely funny that folks who trash mechanical broadheads like the Rage go and have a mechanical rest on their bow......
