I have some land that i was told that i could hunt and fish on in Sacshe/ Rowlett.
I was wondering about the dove hunting part on it. So here are some questions
1. How far away from homes must you be to be able to hunt ?
2. Anyone know how the bird fly around that area ?

Does the place have a pond? If it does hunt near the pond.

Since I'm from that area I would have to come personally hunt the place to let you know whether it is worth it to go or not.

couple years ago they laid out the laws real clear about hunting in city limits.
I know you need 10 acres, and your shot cannot cross the property line after that I do not know.

I know you need 10 acres, and your shot cannot cross the property line after that I do not know. That is my understanding as well, and x feet from any buildings, 300 or 500 yards or something. Call your local GW to be sure..

Need to know which city limits you are in. They make the rules. Unincorporated it falls to county/state. And I would also have to hunt on it to find the birds...!

If inside a city limits it not only has to be at least 10 acres but there is also some part about if it was annexed into the city limits after a certain date. TPW should be able to clear it up for you.

its over 10 acres and over 1000ft away from anything. I dont know when it was annexed though
