Hoyt = Leupold
They are well built, come in a nice fancy package, have a great reputation but at the end of the day offer nothing special for the amount of money you pay...
Sorry guys

If I may ask though, what makes Mathews or Bowtech worth the amount of money we pay if Hoyt isn't worth it? I don't know how you can say that Hoyt has nothing special to offer for the price when they have alot of qualities that other bows don't have. For example their Cam 1/2 system, Tec lite risers(which without a doubt are the best risers on the market), their new bows use their carbon technology....etc. And like you said they are well built bows. They will last you forever. Unlike alot of other bow brands out there. And it may just be me but I like a small grip on my bow so I can add the special grip wrap on it. I can't do that on my Mathews.

I will have to add that Hoyt bows are very easy to tune. NOt just eyeball tune but when you actually tune a bow, the Hoyts are some of the easiest to set up. Korbin http://www.korbinsarchery.com/

I have to agree on this... the prices on their new models are insane and they never seem to perform up to the same standards as Bowtech and Mathews.

That is true. But I still think they are above other brands such as PSE, Diamond, Bear etc. for a reason. Hoyt does have alot of special things to their bows which should put them above most brands.

If speed is all your looking for then yea a hoyt isn't going to match up very well with a mathews or a bowtech, but there still really dependable bows and shoot really well.

So if you could get a bow that is as dependable than a Hoyt and it shot faster than a Hoyt and it cost $500 less than a Hoyt, you would still buy a Hoyt???

Only two of Hoyts bows are priced well above the others. The Carbon Element and the Carbon Matrix. The rest of them like the CRX, Maxxis, Rampage, and Vixcen are priced in the same realm as all the other high end bows such as Mathews ,BowTech, Elite, etc. I paid 699.00 for my new Maxxis 31 a couple of months ago. Every one of them is overpriced if you consider what you pay for them new vs what you can get for them 9 months to a year later. The depreciation on them is drastic. I paid over 900 for the blacked out X Force I just got rid of brand new a year and a half ago and sold it for 350 and was happy to get that.

I dont really care for Hoyt either. Yes it is a good product but I wouldnt shoot one if it were given to me. I believe if you buy a good bow,no matter what brand and it is well taken care of with good accessories on it and properly tuned then it will be a good bow.
I avoid Dick's and hope they fold.

I had a Bowtech Guardian for 3 years and sold it used for $600. I paid about $800 for it new.

As for Hoyt not being as fast as the others, speed is not accuracy....

I agree with you completely. Speed is not everything. So are you saying that Hoyt is more accurate???

That is true... I can't say Hoyt makes a bad bow. I just can't get over the fact that they are charging $1500 for those new models!!! The only advantage to them that I see is that they weigh 1 pound less than others...
