...All I can say is that it works for me, and I have read all the coon threads on this forum and don't recall reading anyone saying that the hanging PVC pipe doesn't work... It didn't work for me. Click on pic for video. I've posted this video several times. They figured out they could climb it from the bottom even after I sprayed it with WD-40. He made it all the way to the top. The PVC is hanging free and rotating just fine.
Good Hunting, Gary

Believe me Deerkilla if it were not for th cost of a divorce lawyer I would have at least one of those rigs. I have fallen off th back of 4 wheelers while filling feeders and have had crank up feeders fall and destroy a couple of spinners. One leg on one of them glanced off my foot before burying itself in th ground. If by any chance you get to feeling bad with all th talk and want to get rid of it cheap I will trade yoy uh crank up and one leg feeder for it and will even throw in a hunderd or so dollars. Just keep us up to date on how it is werkin. Thumbs up guys! How does a few pieces of pvc accomplish the same result? i have pictures of coons climbing up the pvc upside down then stealing corn! How does PVC keep me from having to climb a ladder to fill my feeder?
It could be uh law I dont no. Yall have uh good un

I took your advice and here is what Rustler said: "What has worked; Varmint guards. metal funnel looking things mounted where the legs go through the center. Mine range from 14" to 18" in diameter after a couple weeks they gave up trying to get over or around them. You have to make them with heavy enough material that the varmints can't bend them and they have to be fastened securely to the legs. We've never seen another coon or squirrel on a feeder since installing them. Feeders with the legs attached at a height or width where there is no way a varmint can reach the critter cage, motor housing or spinner plate. A lot of winch up type feeders and those with long legs attached to the center or upper part of the barrel work well. The funnel shaped metal varmint guards will work on any pole, post, leg or tree. If built and installed correctly they work best out of anything Ive seen or tried." Exactly what I was trying to convey all the time and on a tripod. triple-pulley crank-up feeder.

At Oasis Outback in Uvalde they are $999. If you want them to hold 1000lbs instead of 500, they are $1300. google Capsule Feeders. they have a very nice website.

Sorry about the divorce Switch, many of the reasons you mentioned is what finally convinced me to get one. After watching my buddy fall off his four wheeler while filling his feeder i realized that it only takes one mistake.
As far as the rats and squirrels, this isn't a kenco. Also, it has a 20 year warranty so i guess i'm not the one that has to try to figure anything out.
Thanks for that video of the raccoons! Maybe that will open some eyes!

I hope it works well for you, keep us posted.
My cousin had one of the 500lb models. Be sure to stake it in place. Buy an extra cap for the feed port (the cover where you fill the feeder) took the critters about a month to chew through his.
" 20 Year Limited Warranty GreatMark warrants the plastic base, cone, powerhead cover and caps of the Capsule Game Feeder to be free from manufacturing defects for a period of twenty (20) years from the date of purchase. GreatMark warrants that the plastic components warranted above will not crack or otherwise fail under normal operating conditions. This warranty DOES NOT COVER damage, expense or injury caused by wildlife, unauthorized repairs, alterations, incompatible feeds, improper connection, shipping, abuse, theft, accident, neglect or collateral loss. If any component is found to be defective, GreatMark will replace that component (freight not included). Alternatively, GreatMark hereby reserves the option to reimburse the customer for the defective component at the retail price that distributors charge for the same component. All other components are warranted to be free from manufacturing defects for a period of one (1) year."
Not knocking your new feeder, a lot of folks assume the warranty covers damage from wildlife.

Hey Rustler,
Just talked to the manufacturer of my new feeder and told them about the problem your cousin had. They are sending me two new metal lids. He may want to call them too.
Thanks again for bringing that up.

No problem, that's what we're all hear for. I bet my cousin didn't think of calling the manuf. He replaced the chewed cover with a galvanized lid he found at Marshal or Longview trade days. His has been shot a time or two, I don't know what he used to patch it.

oh i see. well then that's good news! My wife was easy to convince because she goes hunting with me a lot. She has seen me stand on a stack of corn on the back rack of the four wheeler and nearly fall off onto a t-post that is staking down the legs.
She realizes that this is a much less expensive option the being impaled by a t-post.

I have a capsule feeder, they are by far the best feeder on the market. I don't see how a rat can chew a hole thru the feeder. Cows can't bump the feeder & corn fall out. 100% coon, rat, hog, cow proof. Now that being said they are expensive, thats why I have 1 feeder. I had a problem with mine awhile back & they came too my place 2hrs from there office & fixed my feeder. They gave me a new solar panel & 12volt battery free. I never would have thought that a deer feeder manufacture would have done this for a guy who just has one of their feeders. One more thing I can pick the whole feeder up by myself when it is empty.
If it bleeds I can KILL IT

Interesting feeder and looks well built, but out of my price range and if I could afford it, I would get one.

It doesnt' matter what you say your wrong for buying this feeder according to a lot of people on here. Who said that? No one has said it's "wrong". It is just more expensive than some other options. No all of us can afford Cadillacs. You explained that it's economical for you due to the logistics of getting to your lease. Fine. Not everyone has that same situation. And not everyone can afford a $1000-$1300 feeder.

I have been looking at one of these feeders for the past several months. It appears it would solve alot of the problems I have but they are expensive. Looking forward to seeing how it works out for you.

I'll say one thing.....the freaking motor on this joker is HUGE! I love it. Not built with a small 12volt motor like the ones on the Monarchs i used to use.

They changed the PVC pipe & they also installed a new motor. I personally like protien feeders better, but if I were to ever buy another spin feeder I would buy a capsule. I would just need to save a little coin first.
