Just got a feeder up and instead of putting corn in it i was thinking about slinging some protein out of it. Do y'all think its past the point of where it'll do them any good antler wise or would it help any?

To late to help the antler growth on the bucks for this season but putting anything out will help all the deer if you are very dry. Would make sure I had a feed pen up even if it was just corn.

Do it if you can afford it,the deer need all the help they can get. They'll thank you later.

In many cases protein is cheaper than corn, so in this dry weather mix the protein with corn and it will help some. Might not help with antler growth much (couldn't hurt), but it will help with health in this drought and into the rut.

Don't fill it full if you can get to the lease often. That way you can check it at regular intervals and clean if it gets clogged. At the first sign of rain, make sure to check the feeders.
