Just got on a new lease in Dilley. Its low fenced but there is water and the land owner has been feeding year-round corn and protein. My last place was in D'hanis near hondo. I was on it three years before i saw a good buck. what can i expect from Dilley?

Depends on the direction it is from Dilley as some of the old farm land areas and some of the subdivision areas do not have as many deer as you would think. If it is in an area like that then you will see about the same on deer as you did in D'hanis.

Agree with the above. Totally depends on where it is and how its been managed. Just being in the Golden Triangle doesn't guarantee great deer, but it's a great start.

Good luck.

I will say that unless it's grossly overhunted, you won't have to wait 3 years to see a good buck.

I hunted in Big Wells for a couple of years back in the 90's. It was pretty good back them with some decent bucks.

Like it was posted above it depends on where, and what direction from Dilley your place is located, as a lot of that area is overharvested.

I know some guys who hunt near Dilley and they pretty much shoot what they see if it's legal.

Once i learned that i didn't "NEED" to kill something, and that if i did kill something all the fun stopped and work began, i was a much better hunter.

alot the habitat is sub-par, old regrowth farms with litle to no managament.

some ranches can be really good, it will depend on where your at

For it is not the quarry that we truly seek, but the adventure.
