I got one a year ago but did not think a lot about it. I think it is more luck than anything. Too many variables.

I have destroyed several nocks. The last one being a Lumenok. But have never gotten one inside the shaft of the other.

Practice, Practice, Practice. Then when you think you are the best. Practice some more.

I "robinhooded" an arrow 1 time, years ago. I make it a point, now, to not shoot twice at the same spot.

It isn't luck. Shoot at your buddies arrows long enough you will get one. My first 2 was my own. Learned to Start aiming at other people's nocks and got two more. A buddy of mine got one on me the other day and 3 shots later I got him back.

I just got one a few months back, first one ever. It was at CCR, and the weather was ugly, I took my daughter up there to shoot indoors. She was being sassy, and told me that she was going to shoot my arrow, and I wound up doing it to myself.
I started shooting when I was a little kid. It seemed impossible to do with my old bow and aluminum arrows (back then, the end was tapered and knurled, and you glued on nocks) I had a coffee can full of busted nocks, but never a Robin Hood. I even tore up some wood arrows with my old recurve, but again, never a split arrow.

I still think it is funny that the Myth Busters said it is impossible! They always seem to get gun and archery stuff wrong. Oh, yeah, they're in Commiefornia. How would they know?

I hate it!
Yeah so it looks impressive, but it's expensive and even busting nocks, ripping fletching is a pita.
Not only that it's dangerous with todays carbon arrows as you can unkowingly nick one and then have it blow up on you and send shards of splintered fibers into your hand, and don't ask me how I know this, but I've got the scar.
Shooting five spot targets is the only practical and safe way to go, and I learned that painfully a long time ago.

Thursday at 12:45 PM #33 Once i learned that i didn't "NEED" to kill something, and that if i did kill something all the fun stopped and work began, i was a much better hunter.

I've shot three in the past 3 years shooting 4 arrow groups. Fill a ring with enough arrows and you'll eventually do it. I've killed a lot of nocks, too. I always felt the Robinhoods I got were luck.
It is amazing the Mythbusters said it wasn't possible. Every pro shop I've been in from San Antonio to Dallas has a dozen or so hanging on the wall, aluminuam and carbon, lol.
