Tdeck,
Great looking axis, congrats. Sounds like your experience was similar to mine. Once again congrats and your pics just make we want to get out there even sooner than my 3 weeks coming up.

Well this was my second weekend down there and once again it was a blast. I was after "big boy" and didn't see him but I saw many good axis. The only reason I have no pictures is because I passed on at least 4 good shooter axis. I would be kicking myself but I had a blast down there. Hunting with Justin one of the guides is just like hunting with a good buddy. I didn't have the chance to hunt with Bill (ranch foreman)but once due to scheduling conflicts. I strongly recommend the place and will be going back as soon as I have the time.

That big boy is fully mature and none too stupid. He has had several sightings but never sat still long enough to get a case of lead poisoning. My Mississippi crew didn't want to axis hunt until they saw him and then that was all they could think about. I hope someone shoots him soon!!! Bill says he and another are running together and look almost like twins. Be patient and sit over water as long as possible. They will come eventually.

Glynn that is my main animal I am after. Blackbuck will just be a Bonus IF i tag an Axis first. If not, that gives me a reason to go back. Lol

Some nice animals on gamecam. Those fallow have really grown out since I was there. Plenty of great looking blackbuck to choose from in a couple weeks, can't wait.

I saw some axis while hunting rams this past weekend and, if the ones I saw were any indication, they didn't seem very inclined to tolerate much in the way of spot-and-stalk antics. That's my natural inclination as a lifelong "Western" hunter, but I suppose I can sit on stand for an inordinate amount of time now that you boys are teasing me with talk of a couple of giant bucks. I'm thinking of running down to Louisiana and finding some voodoo type to put on hex on you boys until my number comes up in a few weeks. wink

Whether the big ones get shot or not, I can tell y'all I will be hunting with these guys as much as I can. Glynn has a great operation. I am excited to see this ranch grow over the next few years. I will be returning atleast one more time this year and am for sure taking my daughter next year. Glynn please keep us updated.

Kentucky so far there isn't much danger in the Texas boys shooting up the place. Most damage was done by some bow hunters from Mississippi. Those guys didn't mess around. But I have a feeling Bulldog here is going to put a whooping on some axis come this weekend.

Bulldog - the big ones only count if you bag them spot and stalk. Thinking we should limit you to a primitive weapon, as well. wink
